Fourteenth round of the 7-A brackets begins! The winner of the last round was Zeruel.

Current Standings (A "-1" indicates a fighter was disqualified for whatever reasons)

The contenders for this round are Kyoya Hibari, submitted by YungManzi, and Nonon Jakuzure, submitted by JackytheJack.

Symphony Regalia Mk.II Nonon (I'll switch to Finale if necessary) and 7-A With Original Vongola Ring Kyoya are used. Speed is equal, battle takes place at a depopulated Honnōji Academy, starting distance of 20 meters.

Nonon is >105 MT, Kyoya is 176 MT.

Yeah I might as well do a quick vote for Nonon

She, in character, pretty much spams ranged attacks all day long from above, and unless he has decent homing ranged attacks she eventually outlasts him by bombarding him to bits.

His main gig is illusion/perception shenanigans a la Kondraki, however he can make said illusions actually real selectively.

IDK how strong/powerful his real illusions can be, I'll message Yung to comment here.

He can also stat amp, create forcefields, sense weaknesses of an enemy, has fire manip, and has non-combat applicable hypnosis/possession.

U mean I can see most of those being combatted this range spam, yeah? Also just like missiles and stuff. I don't think he'd really be able to act on Nonon's weakness since it does require getting up close and I doubt she'd allow him to.

Nonon has forcefields as well, and her only real weakness is she sucks in melee range but she stays at a range so much you'd basically need flight to be able to engage her in melee combat

I'm neutral on the match proper but Mukuro's illusions are on thought and AOE (people he wasn't even aiming the illusions at in the audience were all affected).

Also Mammon himself could fly and that didn't stop the guy from doing this to him.

And the this as well.

Note that Mammon was the second strongest illusionist of the verse at the time and actually resisted/saw through illusions but still got his brain Godstomped by Mukuro's illusions even though he was nerfed, imprisoned in a place where no light or anything was being provided to him and just borrowing Chrome's body with Illusionary organs to keep it going whilst in a key whose illusions are much weaker in effects than the one used here.

Also, since Mukuro can sense weaknesess, what's stopping him from using illusions to fool Nonon into thinking he's somewhere else while he walks up to her and cuts her thread?

Mukuro probably wouldn't go for the thread, in fairness. Even ignoring the illusions, if (keyword) he gets any cut with his trident, possession kicks in unless my memory is betraying me.

Also I'm starting to realize Mukuro is probably a wee bit too haxxed. I can swap him out with Kyoya as that was Yung's other submission.

Probably. I'm not voting for Mukuro or Nonon this early, btw I'm just providing info on his stuff until Yung comes along since he seems to be the more obscure character of the thread.

The thread is gonna be way too difficult for him to cut, yeah. There's no way he's gonna really make it to the thread. Nonon certainly wouldn't let him do that even with all the illusions. It's not like it's unlike her to fly away from the opponent.

@Jacky I legitimately hope Nonon has mind resist feats because Mukuro's illusions are the kind that fries your mind and actually manifest their effects in reality by exposition to them instead of "just confuses you about what you're seeing".

Nah, the Mind-Frying thing was there since Varia arc which is waaay before this one and pretty much his base key. They become stronger and later real llusions come a little before Choice Arc and then this key used here has even more potent illusions and most of the rest of his moveset.

It isn't future Mukuro who have the real illusion thing at this point of the story? because i remember that it's in the last arc he use the real illusion stuff thanks to the Arcobaleno verde

I *do* agree that Mukuro may be a bit too haxxed for this. He will start with Illusionary Mind Frying which as I pointed above is AOE and wrecked the mind of another strong illusionist that could normally see through them like it was nothing in his base nerfed key borrowing a body with illusionary organs so most of his power was focused in manifesting his body in reality and he still fried his brain with extreme ease.

Couple that with "If I get one good hit with Trident in CQC I can possess" and he may be indeed a wee bit too haxxed.

Nah, Mukuro displayed real illusions before the Choice arc. First time when he manifested his own body into reality during Varia arc (see scan above) and physically destroyed Mammon until he escaped, then later again in Chrome's fight against that guy from Millefiore's White Spell. Forgot the name of that perv.

Hibari seems more balanced, yes. I'm leaning more on Nonon in this case but Hibari's propagation may be trouble as well given how it grows by absorbing the energy that others throw at it.

Strictly sound, probably not. I can't remember any sound based enemy in KHR off the top of my mind. Neither it would against those metallic things she throws around.

I do believe it would work against those attacks of hers that look more like beams, case in point this kind of stuff if she uses it.

Flames are more like several types of energy that have different properties. One of them for example is way more electricity manip and doesn't even look like fire.
