    Simply put, Baldur doesn't possess all his abilities at one time. He never demonstrates his Absorption, Fire/Ice Manipulation and resistances to Fire/Ice until after his spell was removed. As such, I believe that Baldur should have a key to reflect when he has his spell and when he doesn't...
