The 5th Messenger doesn't seem that op, it's just blades

...>>>It severs things at a conceptual level

Not surprising since it's already stated Messengers destroy stuff at a metaphysical level, but it's like the first time outside the mini-games, that anything conceptual is acknowledged.

Side note, a lot of what the Messengers have done so far is ability based, it's not like with Critter like Stone Golem shaking cities with just it's voice, and there have been a couple instances where Lily's train can stun them for like a second, so kinda doubtful their durability scales to their ap.

Also can i say i am loving this? Psychological stuff is my fav, hence my Inganock love, but Sona-Nyl so far has just as interesting and deep a cast, with more psychological stuff, could dethrone Inganock as my fav, will have to see how it all wraps up first.

Oh the music is top tier too.
Yeah, I was surprised too when I read it lol.

And probably. I would think their estoric nature as Cracking Beings would make up for that.

Why I've been looking Sona Nyl owo

Same for the music.

About the World Machine of Madness (Setting Memo): The source of its occurrence is the Madness of Space Time, yet it is not subservient to them. It is a **** device that originally existed across multiple universes, series number 28 of the Iron Man Gods. Whether it is good or bad depends on who has the remote control, but it is insane.

In "Celaphis of the Deep Darkness", the remote control (parallel translation) vanished. It's said that either the Golden King destroyed it when he left the Society or that the General Manager Thoth, who ceased making any noise around the same time as the Golden King, abandoned it somewhere.

Source, Sakurai's archived tweets.

Some misc. stuff on a machine that also tells of multiple universes being a thing.

Not much on its own given what we know from the FVR short story of Sharnoth, but consistency and support is a thing that can help.

Are you playing Sona Nyl PC version? (Which contains H-scenes and is the original version).
I was commenting on the H scenes a couple pages ago, so yes PC version.

Speaking of that, honestly feel leaving out the H scenes would make the story worse.

They are important to show just how tragic things are.

Despair and "pleasure" go hand in hand, albeit there is nothing pleasurable going on here, the characters are just going through the motions.

Technically it does have kinky scenes but there is a point to that lolz. And tbf...they are metal so...

I see the puns with "point". I can't even laugh though cause it's so messed up.

They lost everything, even the ability to feel pleasure, it's just metal.

The A/Lily scene will hopefully be the light, in all this darkness.

If there's one thing I learned about metal on metal from a certain meme on the web and a certain gacha game of cyborgs (cough Nikke cough), there's always the ringing sound of CLANK CLANK CLANK.

I'm debating with myself about getting some doujins of WAB...

I looked up and found that AKIRA (Sharnoth and Sona Nyl Artist) actually has/is part of a doujin circle called "Kaned Fools" and thought to myself in getting some doujins I can get.

Some of them is where I TL'd the short stories Sakurai apparently wrote (cuz it has their name on the story). That + being a WAB fan myself, I'd like to collect them goodies owo.

What kind of doujins are we talking about here?

For research purposes of course 🤓
Concept drawings of characters, short manga's of sorts, character designs, and a short story Sakurai have written towards the end of the doujins.

There's also doujins for Ourai no Gahkthun, and the thing is? All of them so far got Neon on the cover. It's insane xD.

You can look it up through these words:

雷霆黄金律,

雷鳥黄金旅程,

轟雷黄金帆船.

And they're really provocative ish. But this one, with the title "NeoLa" or something? Straight up H-doujin material as I would expect it.

ネロリア

^Look up this one on Goggle, and I guarantee you it's 100% not eligible for me to post on my TL blogspot xD

Edit: Might have to put the OG Kanji title for Gahkthun (黄雷のガクトゥーン) to get accurate results.

No joke though.

A visitor on my blogspot gave me a link for one of the Gahkthun doujins, NeLa (Neon x Tesla) and of ALL THINGS I expected to see, it was just the cover with Neon having her chest flashing out in all of their glory owo

Revisions have been applied. Now i can focus on Sona-Nyl.

Thinking about it if Mary is a supergenius, Sonido and AZZT would also be, but have a feeling they are probably nigh-omnicient, if not, omniscient, we would need more info on them to confirm that.

Root of the Cracking Effect (Phenomena Equation)

The original, fundamental Astaire Theory that was supposed to be implanted in the brain of Archduke Astaire during his Cracking Effect Experiment. According to a record left by the last Scholar (albeit a scribbled one), it was said to be deeply related to the city's Revival.

However, the Root of the Cracking Effect was not implanted into the Archduke's brain. Instead, what was implanted was the second Cracking Effect. What was understood is called the Astaire Theory. Yes, such a thing was recorded...if so, who or where was the Root of the Cracking Effect engraved on?

...The Scholar who was said to left the record died without being able to write it down.

Something interesting related to Cracking's origins that me and @TISSG7Redgrave found the other week ago.

Interesting that this was done years before we found out where Cracking was actually created by.

That Jerusha/Messenger scene completely blew my mind

boom-mind-blown.gif

Was incredibly disturbing, seeing how messed up in the head she is.

Also getting lore bombs in the middle of boobs being out, how am i even going to use this stuff, it's NSFW.

But yea as seen before, more statements about Cracking controlling all laws of physics, and eroding reality

Might also be the first time in the VN's, the word Cracking Being is explicitly used, but could be wrong.

Top tiers H-scene is Sakurai as ever owo.

Didn't you tried that with Moran and it was edging on it ish somewhat? owo

Yeah, pretty much.

Technically, you can look at Inganock that had that sort of thing as the ending through the encounter with Grimm=Grimm had Gii realizing stuff about it, including how the Monsters, Critters, and Kikai there were created from Cracking so in retrospect, the concept of Cracking Beings started from there.

Then it goes on with Meta=Critters (if you REALLY squeeze in the idea that Equation being brought up in their creation is Cracking, and M and Moran chasing after them WERE part of the Society who runs with that stuff so they'd know what they're dealing with) and so on even into Gahkthun.

But yeah in actually stating them, Sona Nyl is the one that came up with it directly.

Also on the topic of Sanido (Kthanid) and AZTT (Azathoth), yeah they can at least upscale from the Golden Eye users we've seen to date. Sanido has those explicit statements of being able to see "everything" like the universe, stars, infinite, darkness (probably also looking at M technically cuz they also a simp too per Engine Dictionary book owo), all that sort. And they claim to be AZTT's rival/equal whose smaller eye fragments has those frequent legends like "see all things, accept all things" and the like.

Haven't gotten anything else more in-depth besides that.

I can't even, this is mind blowing

steve-harvey-scared.gif

You mean the Underground residents aren't just dead but literally don't even exist anymore? Holy hell, this is next level, like no wonder Jerusha is messed up in the head, this is all really meaningless as Edison said.

How does a non-existent being even make sense of their "existence"....

Oh Cracking caused all this too, so that whole nothingness stuff from Gahkthun i didn't think had much proof, is really legit, Void Manipulation is an effect of Cracking. If the Messengers "metaphysical destruction" is what made the residents non-existent, being destroyed metaphysically means you don't even exist anymore it seems.

I knew Elysia and Lily were obviously connected, but this is way beyond what i thought.

Edit: Also spent quite a bit of time thinking, I think there is probably a real argument Messengers are NEP (Type 2), they are the laws of the underworld, which doesn't exist, and yet they are stated to be the only real thing in the underworld, yet also are formless with no real substance, WTF.

YES...YES....YES owo.

That is the truth of Edison's Sona Nyl (his "playground") of Underground New York. Other than the Messengers/Angels, only he's the only one that's there. Everyone else is not real. At best, they're like "memories" of the people who DID exist in the actual New York on the surface 5 years prior.

And yeah, pretty much.

The whole thing is that once the initial Six Messengers killed off however many they got to, they all merged into the "7th Messenger" that pretty much finished the job taking care of anyone else that even managed to live through it all. (This is also crazy still because Douglas Fairbanks was THERE when it happened, yet he survived due in part of Fu Manchu saving him according to Jin's statement on Twitter years ago)

Cracking Equation is just super bonkers af it be like owo

And aye, you finally learned the truth of Lily and Elysia, of why they're both going to the same "place" respectively on the surface and in underground NY/Sona Nyl. A hell of an odd thing if you recall where even Elysia was when it happened, yet her arriving there was the final key of sorts to having Lily enter Edison's "playground."

Btw, I just got down going over the Inganock website info on the chars and terminology.

It's kinda been a hot minute since I last checked Inganock so I can't remember if anymore than half of them was already said ish in the VN, but some of them do tell something interesting we probably never knew of about them.
And with that, I'm pretty much done ish with most of Inganock related materials. The only one left is the other major story of Inganock, but I just keep having a nagging feeling it feels "incomplete" according to a list I looked at about stories of Inganock from Liarsoft's FC magazines...

Also can someone remind me but only Porshion doesn't have a "link" like the other kikais right?

Right I just remembered from the Thoth fight. Though its interesting as I think the "thread" is like an umbilical cord since they were never born. If porshion didn't have it then I would have imagined he was born only to be crushed and lit on fire on birth which is a big oof.

Pretty sure that's the point of what the Kikai actually are once you progress through the story towards the end: Unborn babies that ended up transforming into steel fantasies.

Regardless of the death they suffered, all of them are said to have a "thread" (cord in the original JP by official Inganock website glossary) that connects them to their host. They're also just as unkillable ish too even then since even just killing the Kikai's host will just have them transferred to another host by way of Grimm-Grimm's manipulation.

Can't wait to get the Sona Nyl doujin where this guy comes from, because what he does could literally also change up what we know of how Cracking came to be owo.

It helps that said doujins are made by the official artist for Sharnoth and Sona Nyl (AKIRA), and the short story for the doujin was written by Sakurai, same for the other ones I did for Sharnoth (albeit that was a CN copy but I bought online the JP ones as they should be so I'll see how accurate it really is from there) and one story from another Sona Nyl doujin.

Only question I have is making sure it's not something very contradictive and could fit into the main setting background of what we know.

Edit: Funnily enough, there's a convo in the comment section on this page of Von Hohenheim that a Liarsoft book celebrating WAB's 5th anniversary states that Cracking draws on the Tick Tick Man's power.

This is consistent from one of the chapters in Valusia's WN where Hilde (Jeanne), the Steel Princess and one of the Society's upper echelons states that their Crimson Eyes (Sekime) is also drawn power from the Tick Tock Man. I also recall that in the near end of the VN in the NY flashbacks that Cracking, at least the one Edison created, is of his "power" and whatnot.

I just need to get the book that should come later this month from JP (OWO) and see if it's in there to solify the consistency.

I see that the great star has brought that star sword to the land of Kadath.

The Star Sword. With the same name as that star, it is one of the few blades that is capable of killing us, we of the Crimson Eyes that writhes with the power of the Time Man (Tick Tock Man). Matter of fact, my partner, Charles Victor Leclerc, was nearly killed by it the year before.

I, no, we who are abominations taht have been forced into eternity.

Source, Hikari no Valusia Web Novel Episode 2 Chapter 3

This, for anyone that wants to know the Sekime thing.

Do recall that an earlier TL post I did states that the Crimson Eyes of the Society uses a "special Equation/Formula" to make them that's said to give them "permanent activity" or some such. And said Equation in like special quotations is referring to none other than the Cracking Effect owo.

Add that with a flashback seq with Edison and Alan, and the guy flat out tells us that Cracking is his power and all that.

And yet we have GK yapping about science, and dissing illusions, when his power is literally from one.

@Celestial_Pegasus

The sheer irony of the man who wants to rule with SCIENCE.

That said, you finished up Sona Nyl VN by any chance?

What'cha think of it if you have?

Plus if you have, you'll want to read up the Engine Dictionary first since they explain things better about certain stuff you'll find in the WN and Eye of Hypnos story.

You kinda don't have to if you don't want to, but it's said from the book I got of it that it's recommended so the reader has a "better story reading experience" as I recall lol.

I mean there is still also the Refrain content, which from what I saw on YouTube was like 9 hours of content, so not that close to the end.

True. I meant more like the main VN itself though.

Then you got the Engine Dictionary story I linked above, which was originally came with the Refrain version that came out years ago for Xbox/PSP or something so that's something to look into once you finish the VN.

GK: I love SCEIENCE and hate Edison

Also GK: Uses cracking which came from Edison and is a power closer to illusionary and not smth scientific lmfao

@TISSG7Redgrave

I'm hoping what the WAB JP wiki comment section is right about Cracking = using Tick Tock's power when I get the anniversary book later this month, because not only can we get smurf ish hax from that but also the sheer irony of Rosenkruez's simping for MUH Science and natural laws of physics lol

Having a higher dimensional source =/= being higher dimensional. Would need more proof for it to be smurf.

Just started chapter 7 and pretty clear Cracking comes from Edison.

Also i am convinced Cracking is also probability manipulation, there was statement in the Gahkthun Encyclopedia i think, which i posted in the last CRT about Cracking causing the impossible to occur, but also just now saw Edison defining it as the possibility of the mind surpassing physicality, the chance of that potential surpassing reality.

Probably up to 10 abilities for this 1 power now, i also forgot to mention spatial manipulation, which evidence of was shown chapters ago. But yea ridiculous.

@Celestial_Pegasus Would be cool if it was owo

If anything, it just means Edison is like Rosenkreuz where he should be able to use just about everything Cracking has done to date.

And yup, what you've heard so many times is legit a thing about Cracking.

Would that count as Probability Manipulation? Never thought that it would.

Yeah Cracking is just turning out to be more and more Cracked (PUN OWO) the more we look into the statements told about it.

Even this one from when Inganock was the latest, Cracking does a lot of wonders:

Phenomena Equation (Crack)

A power created in Inganock, the city where all sorts of illusions have manifested during the Revival ten years ago.

It is an isolated technology unique to Inganock that does not exist anywhere else in the Known World.

It can conjure phenomena that shouldn't exist.

It is a mysterious theory founded by the Archduke Astaire, who was researching the reason and cause of the Revival that filled the city, and by truly understanding a certain Equation and imaging it in his head, he can manipulate various sorts of phenomena similar to the "magic" that appears in fairy tales.

Once mastered, it becomes possible to manipulate destructive flames that exceeds firearms or the ability to heal an injured body, but only a small percentage of humans could master the complex and mysterious Astaire Theory
. Said users are only a fraction of the city's population, which is said to be less than 1%.
