Dragon Ball Super Discussion Thread 100

I busted my head open as a kid watching OG Z cuz I hit the coffee table while jumping around on the couch. Busted my eye brow open cuz kkx20 got me a lil too hyped
Sometimes I'm thinking how absolutely hype Namek would've been if it was released today.

Also the Vegeta fraud allegations would've been insane.

It was that one game in playstation 1 that I use to play Dragon ball z supersonic warriors (I don't correctly know the name)
Supersonic Warriors was for the GBA, the game you're talking about is either GT: Final Bout or Ultimate Battle 22 which both games are shit by the way, you're doing yourself a favor by not remembering their existences till now

Fun fact about Final Bout for anyone curious: Not only is the game's roster made by six versions of Goku, most of which are just his Super Saiyan states but either Z or GT, but he's also voiced by Steve Blum...who you may recognize from a variety of different franchises because he's the kind of VA who's in practically everything

Leaving powerscalling aside for a while, what was you guys first experience with DB?
I don't know exactly what my first experience was, but I think it started with episodes that were shown on national TV channels along with Cartoon Network (sometimes there was Votatoon, something that was only in Latin America. You voted for the next cartoon that would show by calling and sometimes one of the two options was DBZ)

During this time I started watching some classic animes on the computer, such as Bleach, DBZ-DBGT and Saint Seiya (practically all in 360p)

this more than 10 years ago.

My first experience with Dragon Ball was me coming downstairs with a cold when I was in elementary school and seeing my brother watching Goku fighting Ginyu on Namek. Like, it was before the body swap. I didn't start really getting into it until the Freeza fight, though.

It took me a long time to actually watch DBZ from end to end, honestly. I should do that again.

Me reading the manga came later on when I should have been in 6th grade, and honestly there's some things I like the anime for more than the manga (The entire year long time skip in the Saiyan arc, the Ginyu Force in general, beginning of the Buu arc, etc). But also the manga is still pretty peak and I enjoyed it a lot regardless.

Being traumatised by my sibling showing me Cell absorbing people when I was kid.

Ahem... playing DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 2 having zero idea what I was doing or who were the characters (the music was nice tho) and somehow winning my first match via button mashing as Piccolo (which caused a lot of salt).

Unironically, actual animated Dragon Ball. My dad had me watch it with him when I was young, like, REALLY young (alongside his CDs of all kinds of his 80’s and 90’s rock and roll bands), so for me it felt like I grew up with it my entire life. I was watching it all at the time—From the Tenkaichi Budokais (most notably the 21st, with Goku Vs Krillin), to Goku’s clash with Frieza on Namek, to even Goku’s attainment of the ultimate Saiyan form (at the time) SSJ4. And he’d always treat me to getting a Dragon Ball Z film (Cooler’s Revenge, Wrath of the Dragon, etc.) whenever we ever got the opportunity.

By the time I was in middle school, I had already been playing multiple DB games and watched the various shows a few times. Ironically, it was actually around that time that I read the original manga. Someone at my school had told me that the “words/story” was different than what we were watching animated (because of course I had only ever seen the Dubs)—So I thought “No way, you’re lying-“ and checked it out. Once I realized it WAS true, I binged it all.

My first exposure to Dragon Ball is back when I was still in elementary school. One of the local tv station aired the OG Dragon Ball but it's dubbed with Indonesian dub, it goes on until the late Cell Saga when it suddenly stop airing for possibly budget reason.

And the other when I was in middle school when I accidentally look up Dragon Ball Kai on my mom's old BlackBerry phone.

Someone did make a scaling chain awhile ago and I'm pretty sure EoGT Goku was the strongest 3U character, but this was prior to the SSJG multiplier thingy

So how will the DBbros handle the 1-A changes? Because from what I've seen there are some translations of that Afterlife scan that implies a non-dimensional physiology, rather then just a place beyond whatever dimensions exist in the verse.

Is that scan even accepted to be worth anything or am I yapping.
What is this?
