I still don't get it on a narrative level, why was Tails afraid of Chaos-0 when in his story he defeated Chaos after the later had absorbed 4 Chaos Emeralds? It's ridiculous unless somehow Infinite amped up Chaos beyond even Perfect Chaos
Sonic was dead for six months (which Tails felt responsible because he did nothing to help) and he was facing one of his killers, there is a narrative explanation, it's just badly told because of the shitty timeskip. The worst part is Tails doing nothing to help Sonic against Infinite at the start of the game, just yelling his name

I can kind of heavily agree that Tails's characterization in the current games is not that good in comparison to what he was in the adventure era for the record.

Aside from his original purpose of being essentially Sonic's side kick, which kind of changed after some future games in the past.

I disagree. Tails in the Adventure era grew to be more competent of a hero in his own right, but he choose to continue as a sidekick to Sonic.

He nevers stopped admiring the Cool, Blue Hero.

Should I remind you that when Tails thought Sonic was killed in Sonic Adventure 2, he literally vowed to defeat Eggman and carry Sonic's last wish?

That Tails wouldn't do nothing for 6 months until Sonic gets free

Not to defend Sonic Forces (I literally thought of this yesterday), SA2 Tails is quoted saying “Sonic actually asked me for the first time do something for him. I won’t let him down!

Perhaps SA2 Tails got his bravery with Sonic’s image pushing him?

I’m thinking (for now) that Tails only did that in SA2 because his idol wasn’t beaten(only tricked) and actively passed a sort of torch to Tails. In Forces, Sonic was beaten and defeated, without even looking at Tails and losing that image of Sonic Tails had.

Or shit writing is shit writing :V

See if that was actually explained, that it was due to guilt, then I can buy him not doing anything in that regard but as you said it was told horribly to begin with

Nah, Tails was brave even without Sonic in those games

Yeah I think the SA games were not just about Tails being more brave but be also more independent from Sonic, which makes what happens in Forces even more disheartening because it just disregards all the development which the cast has gone through

I see the one who tried to sell it put so much categories on name of this plushy.

Also 139 for this? Nearly at the cost of Switch lite...
I bet the child in the photo is blissfully ignorant of the origin of that "toy".

Kinda reminds me of the time an old lady asked for a Pennywise toy for her young grandson at my local toy shop (she had zero idea who Pennywise was btw) and simply said her grandson's older brother recommended it.

I think we all know what the older brother's intention is
Still, I can't believe someone was insane to make a Sonic EXE doll
Eh... it's nothing new, folks are willing to do anything to make a quick buck. From those Pokémon parody legit ripoff gachas to toys based on memes or creepypasta but if there's a market for it, money talks.

Still sketchy AF tho.

Either way it seems the SCU controversy has died down, folks are barely talking about it anymore now that I think about it (minus the occasional mod). The game is currently on version 1.4 which go rid of the seizure glitches on the Switch and fixed minor glitches on other plaforms iirc (they'll probably wait until the physical release in the EU region to patch up the rest of the game).

SCU "controversy" was always an overreaction
Disagree considering I know folks who lost their save data IRL, Nintendo actually giving refunds and the game later getting discounted by various retailers (just days after release).

Regardless of your opinions towards the game, it factually was poorly optimised and should've been delayed for polish (it took them less than a week to patch out the seizure glitches).

A shame gaming has devolved into charging full price for games that are incomplete/in beta and then "fixing" them later.

"Overreaction" because people acted as if the franchise was doomed (for the 500th time) because of things that would have (and were) fixed by patches. Obviously I still think the game and the port sucks

Ok I can respect that train of thought. I still wish Sonic 06 wasn't treated as this big bad boogeyman of the franchise (same with the "mandates") whenever something goes wrong like what happened to SCU.

I also think that while the story is bad, the characterization is pretty spot on for what these characters are meant to represent and everyone felt useful in some way

During his announcement about Shadow announcement of taking over the world and blowing up the moon, he announces himself as Dr. Eggman to everyone but maybe he did call himself Robotnik at least once

I'm sure Sonic and company use Eggman for the "present" one and Robotnik for the classic one in Generations

Name a better antagonist in the franchise than Mephiles (saying Eggman is cheating) 🔫
Besides Eggman? Really none, despite the Metal Sonic stands.

As Sonic's antagonist, not really. Mephiles isn't a Sonic villain but a Shadow villain. He works better playing off of Shadow than Sonic.
