Also, we literally see he uses the blast it expands outward. You can't say he can selectively "exclude" himself from the effect of the blast simply because he can selectively erase thing. This isn't logical at all, we never see anyone who can somehow selectively exclude themselves from the effect of the omnidirectional blast in Dragon Ball.

That leads into speculation, it could be that his guards are just Op, or that no one would get a chance to attack him before getting erased

No, he literally can't perceive top-tier fighters in the tournament and needs his GodPad to see the fight, and Gods of Destruction are one of the strongest beings. Also Hakai have non-blast version just just instantly erase the target without travel

The applications aren't relevant here nor is anyone disagreeing with that point, and it definitely encompassed the timeline, but why exactly would he include himself if he can selectively choose specific individuals and the entire universe where they are from even while being completely outside said universe?

yeah see, If he can erase zamasu just in the same way he did to frost in the ToP, why didn't he? Why would Zeno directly choose an omnidirectional attack that clearly encompasses the timeline in non-instantaneous mode instead of just simply palming his hand and directly doing the job in 0 seconds? He decided to nuke everything in this way without caring about whether his EE could affect him or not, (As we literally see in the clip I shared just a few mins ago that zeno was legitimately pissed from what he saw on earth) which already shows he blatantly doesn't consider his EE threatening to himself because his body is simply resistant, why would he be considered the KING of everything if he can fall victim to his own ability, You are just assuming everything and shifting the burden. YOU need to prove it, not me proving the opposite.

The light can be merely a visual representation of how the erasure works without being a 1 to 1 of how exactly it is proceeding
