Roy Getting Absolutely OBLITERATED for
no reason

For anybody extrapolating Roy having his "life" erased should probably reread what i have sent for the original translation. It is quite explicitly him being erased from the world.

I dont see how NPI covers something that has been stated to be erasure based multiple times.

count me in for a disagree

Disagree FRA, most of the sources provided by post and others make me more inclined to believe him having EE than not.

Okay, apologies for that, working two threads while tired.

I'm open to both here. I need more information about the fire scene.

Puck seems like NPI by itself. But burning someone out of existence seems significant. Do we have raws for it, perhaps?
I sent them earlier, they removed him from existence, his soul was getting burned beforehand but it was going to keep burning him forever

Roy Alphard had a curse placed on him to where if he defied Aldebaran by eating from a soul he wasn't supposed to, his body and soul would be scorched by purifying flames, and he would die.

When Roy did defy him, and was burning alive in both body and soul, Reinhard appeared and chose to kill him, ending his misery. He didn't use existence erasure, he simply killed him, thus "erasing him from the world of the living."

“—That is enough.”

Leaving his master, who had done what she needed to do, in his friend’s care, Reinhard, pushed onward, crossed the battlefield.

In an instant, he grasped the positions of the presences scattered through the area, headed toward the enemy who needed to be dealt with, and with a single flash, erased Roy Alphard of Gluttony, wrapped in blue flame, from this world.

“—Thank you for the meal!”

What was burning the laughing Roy Alphard was an inextinguishable blue flame blazing with his soul as kindling. Therefore, Reinhard gave him a mercy kill so that he would not suffer for long.

Reinhard's existence erasure feats do seem frustratingly vague though.

The part about vanishing to nothing is certainly interesting to me, as is the part about the light erasing everything in front of it, and splitting the world. Are those translations accurate? The part about splitting the world definitely needs more context.

Killing people does not erase them from the world, furthermore the burning is never stated to kill him but rather cause eternal burning, hence it being inextinguishable, nothing implies those were burns were killing him. He simply erased him.

この世 = this world
から = from
消滅 = disappearance / extinction / annihilation
させる = causes to happen

Yeah they’re accurate, Reinhard’s is too, he simply swings his hand and causes Roy to disappear from the world. That’s quite explicit

They are, both human-translated.

Do we have more context regarding splitting the world though? Spatial manipulation, perhaps?

Both Reinhard and Reid are stated to cut space, yes.
That could allow for this erasure then.

The part about any object wielded by a sword saint becoming an embodiment of the concept of a sword also seems like concept manipulation. Although it still revolves around cutting everything, as described.
I don’t think any amount of AP erases people without a trace
Fiction is weird on that. The other trick is whether erasing them from the world is specific or hyperbolic.

I'm currently neutral on Existence Erasure for these feats, although I think Puck sounds like NPI.

Yeah fiction is iffy, I was incorrect about the curse part, Roy was going to burn alongside his soul, however it is never stated to be capable of erasing him, erasure language is really strict in re zero, and they use language which implies that Reinhard made Roy straight up disappear

Yeah Reid got that
Durability Negation & Conceptual Manipulation (Type 2; Reid's transcendent swordsmanship manifests the very concept of the sword itself— a "sword" being "an object meant to cut things"— and therefore the manifestation of that concept can cut through everything in this world. For this reason, any object he wields has the concept of the sword manifested through it, his strength being unchanged no matter the object he wields, causing regular wooden chopsticks to seemingly become harder than steel. His sword-flash is neither a special magic nor a special technique, with a mere swing of his sword it becomes a searing light that splits the world diagonally, erasing everything in the light's path)

I don't think Tappei's wording here is simply describing Roy being killed. The original Japanese uses この世から消滅させる ("to cause him to disappear from this world"), which is much stronger than language that would ordinarily be used to describe death.

From what I know of Japanese, expressions like this generally aren't used unless the intent is to convey annihilation or erasure rather than simply killing someone. Because of that, I believe the Arc 9 feat is most appropriately interpreted as an erasure feat.

As for Puck, I don't think this is just Non-Physical Interaction. Puck possesses a physical mana body, and both that physical body and his Od were erased. Based on the previous CRT, the Od is also accepted as CM Type 3, which further supports this interpretation.

For those reasons, I disagree with this CRT in its current form, although I do agree that the reasoning behind the existing profile should be revised. I also think it's likely there are additional erasure statements throughout the series that are worth examining before reaching a final conclusion.

What about Possibly rating as a compromise? This is really depend on how the text is interpreted

The world wishes to know why you only make removal threads

Nope, also I’m just curious why only removals
Setting aside that there's nothing wrong with correcting issues this way, you do realize that even if he personally hated the verse or whatever, the thread's content is what would be evaluated right? He could be named IHateReZero and this would still be well within rights so long as he isn't antagonistic. And that clearly isn't the case here.

Anyways, I'll close the thread until he returns.
