There is only so much this excuse can justify. Bad animation is one thing but it is downright abhorrent at some points. Saying "as usual" doesn't paint a good picture either even if we trust the second guy for the sake of argument.
Besides, while director is an important role, the main issue here is animation. Some of animators have outright disparaged OPM itself online afaik and it is not a lot to ask to not put neon filters over stuff.

You can hate with a burning passion if you like as they have collectively done a very bad job, even relative to the circumstances. The most I would ask for from anyone else is no death threats or personal attacks of that nature
In his case, Aoki certainly did put his soul into his work and they're not even showing his cuts and corrections. I hope a talented animator like him doesn't miss out on a future animation gig because his name was associated with S3
Same as Van Oba, they cut half the stuff he did, probably for pacing reasons.

Ok I get that the season is trash and yes I hate it but I won't let it like literally effect my life it's just an anime. No one at the studio deserves direct hate for this even if we adamantly do not like the work produced. I think hating on the director or animators is silly. They are human beings like the rest of us.

To restate it for the ten thousandth time it does suck that Season 3 has extremely limited the potential growth of One Punch Man.
Season 1 was a worldwide sensation. If s2 and s3 repeated half that success we would be in a similar position to JJK with massive sustained popularity.
As it is, I don't think the series is going to explode in popularity with the Organization or the God Arcs. Unless a movie or something else comes out I think the growth of our community is going to be really limited, or if the Organization Arc doesn't slap as hard in the manga, even keep dipping downwards.

OPM will endure but yes, the brand has been critically damaged and the fandom will likely just stall nothing that can be done about that.
That said the Neo Heroes saga is shaping up nicely and in what regards to the manga and webcomic I see no reason to not be excited,.

I'm just being selfish, I share your excitement about the future of the current and coming story arcs, but the anime's catastrophic failure means I'll never be able to watch OPM again with my friends and my wife, who would watch a very popular anime but not read a manga.
