As a Maki fan, that was a weird and crazy moment. While I can see the logic behind it and remember a scene or two of build up beforehand, the execution gave it a huge "out of nowhere, WTF" vibe

dude everyone is beating a puddle that used to be a dead horse at this point, yeah its the middle of the road work, not overly bad, not overly good its a good "get into anime" type story, requires little attention and is overall quite straight forward.
