How it is not a stomp?

Walter is terrible in close-quarters encounters. His best displays are against Jesse, who always ends up beating him, usually leaving Walter helpless on the ground. His flyswatter was designed specifically for killing, unsurprisingly, a fly, so its compatibility against a large animal that often hunts in the wild is gonna be laughably ineffective. Yeah, it knocked Jesse to the ground...by complete accident. He has no means of continuing to fight when he's gonna have bite marks and huge scratches scattered around his body. I don't know what iron nerves you're referring to, because the last time I checked, there isn't anything Walter's gone through to imply cougar injuries are something he'll tank through like its nothing.

Speed is equalized, but cougars have far better mobility. Walter has zero counters against a pounce. A single pounce, and its over for Walt

I think in my conversation with @JustANormalLemon & @BigSmoke4269, either one stated that it was from him being mentally tough in his prime.

I mean, I can always give him his gun &/or make him land the first strike on the cat.

I don't even really like those fights where you give one character like a bajillion months of prep anyways it feels kind of cheap
They can be fun if its balanced on both sides. Like one character has pretty much every chance to win in their favour normally while the character with prep evens things out to where it can go both ways. But not all fights get to be like that sadly

Mental strength isn't gonna do much against a cougar tearing into your neck. Also, you can't have the rules so "Character A has already gotten a first hit on Character B"

I think people are forgetting that Walter is legitimately not a great fighter in melee scenarios

Would giving Walt his gun balance things out, or is this thread a lost cause?

walter still can hit the puma face mid pounce, just not really a likely cenario
He absolutely cannot. The dude can't even counter attacks from 10-As reaching him. He couldn't even dodge Jesse throwing an object at him. How's something as mobile and experienced in hunting like a cougar gonna get dodged or struck mid-pounce?

Walter iron nerves makes him not scared in this fight, the reason so much people are destroyed by pumas is the ffollowing:

Are not armed with anything
the puma did a surprize atack
the puma is much faster
they are scared as hell from the puma

walt covers all this here

you see, a trowed object is faster them walt, and the puma isn't hiden in this fight, not to mention the puma pounce speed is also equalized, but as I said, It's not likely, if this battle happened 100 times, I can see walter beingh able to defeat the puma only once, that's why I vote puma, but It's not a stomp, just a really decisive win

We can always swap to an unarmed Walt against a Siberian Husky.

In which case, if this cougar vs Walt thread is a stomp, do you mind closing this please?

I mean, does speed equalized effect mobility? Are you implying that the thrown object was hidden? Speed equalized does effect reaction & combat speed.

This....is absolutely overplaying Walter in combat. Do you really think if Walter had to fight a cougar, he would just fearlessly think "I got this" and pull off some Dark Souls type dodge and hit methods on it?

Yes, cougars have been killed by humans in real life. You know what the difference is there though?
1) Recorded instances include the cougars being younger and unhealthy
2) The humans who fought them were armed with a legitimate weapon and had some actual knowledge of how to operate even somewhat competently in a close-quarters scenario
3) None of them pulled off counters on the cougars MID-POUNCE

Again, you know that Walter's just not a great fighter, right? "Iron nerves" aren't gonna turn him into Rambo, allowing him to Neo dodge every swipe and nail every strike with a glorified flyswatter

But this fight isn't happening a 100 times where Walter comes back with better knowledge each time on how to win. So he has no chance of getting better

You're arguing that an object, thrown by a guy with average speed, would be harder to dodge that a mountain cat, which commonly hunts down prey to survive, pouncing at an unskilled fighter with a flyswatter

Seriously, you're very much overplaying Walter's ability to fight in a melee scenario

Uhu... I meant the trowed object is faster them a puma

speed equalized equalizes combat speed(that is most of the time reaction speed), and sinse the puma speed are all the same, walter can still react to It

Yeah, speed is equalized. And Walter still consistently fails to dodge attack/counter attacks from somebody like Jesse with average speed. What makes you think he's gonna dodge an attack from an animal predator if he couldn't dodge Jesse tossing an object at him?
