My Hero Academia General Discussion Thread #18

Kota bypassed Midoriya's durability with a critical hit to the nads😞 unfortunately he doesn't scale
I don't think a Below average human character could harm a City block one even if he punch him in the dick, he'd have to be at least Large building level+

Wait a minute, which arc is this from again? Is it post Endeavor Agency?

Mineta punched and cause Deku to tremble and clutch his stomach, he even gasp/spit(?). Baseline Large Town Endeavor Agency Mineta? Time for that Homelander rematch, King

Verses always get speed capped once the authors actually start giving out hard numbers for the speed scale.

That's what happened with JJK when Gege gave that Mach 3 statement.

One Piece was lucky that fans decided to ignore the 200KM Gazelle-man outrunning Luffy & Zoro feat with defenses like "movement speed ≠ combat speed". Otherwise, you know full well that if Oda gave direct speed statements each time, it would probably be a disaster considering he views 200km/hr as too fast even for Luffy.

While not as common in the main MHA series, one thing I remember 1 or 2 years ago was MHA: Vigilantes speed scaling with Koichi using his hearing to dodge Six plus Six also saying a supersonic bullet would be the end for Koichi.

It's just that the Vigs authors are yet to give out hard numbers for speed but it's pretty clear in their heads the characters are way slower than how they are scaled here.

Yeah some amateur authors don't really bother researching basic stuff like that, which is shameful for authors who write in a battle genre. A lot of these manhwas are likely adaptations of poorly-written Korean webnovels to begin with.

Reaper of the Drifting Moon has been quite popular among manhwa readers these days, having nice art and being written by the same author as The Legend of the Northern Blade. But in the recent chapters it's been revealed that the overpowered MC needed a special technique to reach the speed of sound. Not really that strange but the author could've gone higher than that and there wouldn't have been a problem.

I have some problems with some ratings of LOTNB, but it would be really funny if there is some ratings-breaking statements in the future about it.

For Jujutsu Kaisen, it would've been less problematic had the speed statements come from Gege him/herself in interviews, since WOG takes lower priority compared to the source material. But those speed statements were consistent and within the manga itself. It can't be easily ignored especially with how JJK calcs has been constantly contested to begin with.

I still don't know the logic behind MHS+ top tier when the highest calc listed on the verse is only like High hypersonic 🤨. I got so used to how professional and organized our page is that when I check out other verses it feels I'm on another website

...Because the calc is a feat from someone who isn't a top tier? Bruh...

I do agree that the profiles and verse page aren't comprehensive enough to explain how the scaling chain works though. Which is kinda true for a lot of other verses. Even MHA can be confusing at times with scaling from different values within the same tier.

I know, just that there isn't a single explanation, calc, justification, multiplier,...etc explaining why they are in said tiers. In our verse you either get into a new tier by upscaling slightly from the previous one or get calcs/statements to back you up, you don't just jump 2 whole tier willy-nilly like that

Northern Blade definitely has some of the best dynamic fight scenes I've seen. Some of the fights feel as if you are watching an anime.

We got shown clearly in the anime that Izuku did outpace Jirou's sound wave attack here.

Her comment that he was too fast made it clear to me and I think the visuals support it as well, but some people believed otherwise.

I've calc the feat. I did both the anime and manga version, though the manga version came out to be faster. Since I believe it should be alright to say that Izuku began to move at the same time she fired her attack, which is somewhat supported by the anime. As he doesn't move until after her attack is launched.

The anime version also seems different, doesn't look like he dodged using Blackwhip in the manga but instead used Air Force to propel himself.

This is also further support of Izuku in canon being faster that sound. He's even exhausted during this moment, and we know that affects his physical abilities as well.

Do we give heat resist to Iida for not being burned by "friction fire"(idk the actual term) when the gang launch him or is it anime only
It was anime only. Though logically he should be generating a lot of heat moving at that speed. His armor is even breaking from the sheer speed.

But the heat thing was only shown in the anime.

This would've been revolutionary back when the verse was still stuck in High Hypersonic+ with no end in sight, funny how things changed

Darn! Anyway is there a way to calc Todoroki's or Bakugou's LS for launching the 3 of them fast enough to catch Deku or is that not how we calc LS?

That's not how we get LS, since their Quirks doesn't scale to their physical strength.

Also the other students helped push them along the trail as well.

Nice MHS feat to hold us over until the Sub-Rel CRT is made
No reason to make changes now when they'll be changed soon in the future.

But the next CRT I want to make will likely focus on things like powers and abilities to scaling and keys. Since the High 6-C stuff is currently on hold for now.

Getting all of that set up, along with coming to an agreement with how the scaling should go would be better before we start making changes to their ratings.

I'd like the High 6-C and Sub-Rela CRT to focus on those two things. Whenever they're ready.

There's also the 8-A Nighteye stuff that everyone seems to forget.

Also Rusty wdyt about baseline High 8-C+ Kota for this and baseline High 7-C Mineta for this 👀. I'm joking of course....or am i😳

Please be joking. Even if you weren't and we treated it as a valid, it's an obvious outlier or a gag scene which has no bearing on serious powerscaling. Even considering those as "feats" is just an example of powerscaling mindrot.

I joking of course, and my mind is already rotting without any powerscaling involve. My main point was the 8-A Nighteye stuff that got brought up a while ago. Could you imagine High 7-C Mineta tho, shit would be hilarious
