God of War: Ragnarok Discussion Thread

This isn't going anywhere guys. Stop responding to this guy now.

What were we discussing before he dropped?

I believe it was whether Atreus should be next game main lead protagonist.
While I can see the desire to see Atreus as the next lead protagonist, I wouldn't be too sure of it unless he can prove himself further in melee combat and train to at least try to be up to par with his father, because Atreus knows his shortcomings and he knows that he can overcome them too just like his father had previously before.

Poor argument? You're arguing gameplay mechanics in a game that has WOG supporting it, intent supporting it, statements supporting it, lore supporting it. It doesn't matter what you say. Everything within the game straight up contradicts you. Novels are allowed. You're saying novels are secondary canon as if that debunks it entirely. No. If that was the case, novels would be debunked by absolutely everything because novels play out differently than the games. That's not how that works. If there is a severe difference that has nothing to do with the game mechanics, limitations, or lore, then it's a contradiction. Hermes dodging the light of Helios is more than enough to cement him with infinite speeds. With intent and WOG supporting that as well.
the game doesn't support it itself which is the problem

if Kratos in the game had a hint of being able to move that fast or being portrayed as that powerful i wouldn't be arguing it but saying he's infinite and hell looking at Atreus profile he is infinite as well is idiotic

With what I have seen of his playing mechanics I believe he can have spin off Norse games with him as lead. Kratos can move on to Egypt while Atreus continues his adventures in Norse.
That's the thing. The Giants aren't... in the 9 Realms anymore. They're in other pantheons.

Would be cool to see a spin-off sequel that acts as a prequel to Kratos's visits to new Pantheons.

Then I don't know how they will manage it.
I sure even peeps at SSMS are perplexed with how they want to continue.

Light of Helios dodging is once again, just enough to support it. And that's in the game.

the argument is finished no need to keep arguing with people who seem to think that Kratos and other in this verse can move that fast.

You guys will just ignore it and call everything an outlier or blame game mechanics for the lack of good showings

Anyways, moving topics:

With the children of each God typically growing stronger than their parents within Greek mythology, do you think Atreus will surpass Kratos? And if so, by what amount? Will he be in the same tier, but just above Kratos? Or be in another tier entirely?

Depends on how strong his determination is.

Dodging the question, peak comicvine response. Unless you plan on actually answering the question then it saddens me to say that I guess this conversation is over.
i sent you a response??? speaking like vs wiki is above comicvine is embarrassing my man arguing about fictional characters on different websites is not something i would brag about lmao

Mainly to train and surpass his father in order to be able to do good by those he wants to protect.
Would training really make him stronger than his father, though? I recall Mimir saying himself that it's not the physicality that makes you strong, it's you being a God that makes you strong.

Kratos also states that both his body and his magical strength are honed by discipline, so it's certainly possible that Atreus can grow to that physical strength if he really works for it.

What did I say about not continuing this spatfest? Also no, you didn't answer his real question, he literally asked you: What tier would you place Surtr, Ymir, and the Yggdrasil at? Oh and Atlas and Ouranos?

Indeed it is a response but not an answer to the question friend.

Question: What tier would you place Surtr, Ymir, and the Yggdrasil? Oh also Atlas and Ouranos?
If you ask me, Surtr would be 2-C. Ymir would also be 2-C. Yggdrasil is still 2-A/1-C in my heart. Atlas would be 2-C. Ouranos would also be 2-C.
