God of War: Ragnarok Discussion Thread

He's stronger than the average 14 year old in that department (Thrud comparisons aren't the best cuz well, Thrud) but yeah, he has issues in lifting strength.

Just message him on CV. I have before, guy is pretty cool.
I did like 15 minutes after I posted that , just checked and LOL he said he has around 13k word post ready and he hasn't even gone past the Cory/Hades crap , this is gonna be hilarious lmao

Downplayer or wanker xD

How do you guys scale Jormugandr?
I don’t know if anyone else agrees with me, but I think Jormungandr has a clear difference between his younger self and his older self. His younger self imo, is actually WEAKER because thor beat him In ragnarok of course. But back in 2018, it’s specifically said that when thor and jorm fought before the events of the game during his massacre of the midgardian jötnar, it was a draw and thor was left furious about it.

This just in: Man uses gameplay footage to attempt to debunk countless infinite speed feats, strength feats, and durability feats, because Baldur stabbed Kratos with a rock that he immediately healed from.

Using new scaling, 2-C. Using old Yggdrasil scaling, 1-C durability, 2-B everything else maybe?

The second fight happens immediately after Young Jormie lands in the past. Freya herself states so. It's the same exact Ragnarok Jormie that fights Thor twice in a row.

And here I thought people respected powerscaling. Didn't know people would be so anal about demading direct on-screen visuals.

She’s says that old jormangundr is still in Midgard after thor knocked him back his younger self to the past, not that he fights thor immediately after landing the past. Plus mimir says that it’s “a younger jormie, fresh from jötunnheim, who would grow into the world serpent we know.” Which is consistent with kratos pointing out that the serpent is different when he first sees him fight thor in ragnarok.

No.

If I go to ComicVine now, I will legit die of a stress-induced heart attack.
Good point. I genuinely don't see how someone thinks Kratos is purely city level. Oh, just ignore all the universal and multiversal feats, ignore Yggdrasil, ignore all of that. Kratos is only city level because Baldur stabbed him with a rock that held up a dimensional portal!

She explicitly states that the snake appeared one day, and soon after, Thor holla'd at him and fought to a stalemate, said fight shaking the 9 Realms.

That sounds pretty immediate.

Plus mimir says that it’s “a younger jormie, fresh from jötunnheim, who would grow into the world serpent we know.”
Friendly reminder that the serpent we know in 2018 has had two whole centuries to grow up. Younger Jormie got hurled back into the past 2 centuries prior to GoW2018.

Which is consistent with kratos pointing out that the serpent is different when he first sees him fight thor in ragnarok.
Again, Jormi's second rematch happened almost 2 centuries before 2018.

Now think about Hypotethical Adult Atreus (he should surpass Kratos according to a dialogue), with the help of Jormugandr, Fenrir and Hel (+ his army)
Adult Atreus will probably surpass Kratos, yes. All of the Greek Pantheon's offspring tend to get stronger than their parents.

Cronos > Uranus
Zeus > Cronos
Kratos > Zeus (non-fear)
Hypothetical Adult Atreus >? Kratos.

I don't think so. I don't think he will out of genetics alone.

He doesn't seem to possess any of Kratos traits to the same extent of his giant side.

Man I Just Hope to see a sequel with Atreus, It Is clear they have put a lot of effort in his character, especially now that Kratos Is completed as a character. I can't wait for Loki's story, I Hope to see Hel Being Born too and at least her being a biological daughter to Atreus.

I think that Jormugandr was originally planned to actually be Atreus's on in the game, the they choice for this soul thing, unless the soul had the Spirit of Atreus's son if this Is possible?

Btw I am refering to this:

I think Atreus won't have Kratos almighty physical strength, Ragnarok clearly showed this, Thrud got his genes from Thor, but Loki is remarking this since First day that he isn't as his dad wanted, that he was weak and the not trained as a Spartan, but he can still be a stronger fighter overall, Loki can be a "tricky" kind of opponent.

NO HORNY ALLOWED

Now here is a DM that is actually legitimate and I have confirmed from my side of things and from people lurking in the SSM servers.

Apparently Kratos dying is nothing new but it's not something that has much connection to the lore.

Depending how you interpret it, it could go as far back as the Greek Games and prolly connect to the whole "every timeline" tweet that Bruno made previously.

I don't know why so many people downplay Kratos with his death in the Thor fight anyways. Thor is ridiculously strong.

Honestly any chance of downplay immediately goes down the drain in the second rematch, even Bruno believes (Key note: Believes) that the fight was a stalemate in his opinion (Although in the game it was pretty straightforward win for Kratos), even Mimir of all places tells Kratos to keep in control, the same Mimir who doubted Kratos would even last one fight against Thor in 2018.

That fight was: Thor overpowering suppressed Kratos, some equal clash, then Kratos throwing a punch showing superiority, then the fight Is interrupted.

Thor Is insanely strong yeah, but lol a Kratos going for the kill would have a clear upper hand over him.

Thor is lucky he didn't meet the God-killer version of Kratos AKA GOW3 Kratos. GOW3 Kratos would've murked him within 5 seconds flat.
