Fairy Tail 100 Year Quest Discussion Thread: Post-Void Saga

Also, just re-read the Gray vs Skullion fight, man Gray got ******* jobbed dude. Fight was underwater, he blitzes Skullion, then gets oneshot with hax, what the actual hell was that fight? And since then, Gray has done nothing of note.
Honestly if I was Mashima

After having Gray being capable of matching an incomplete END.....

In 100 YQ he should be stronger than any Spriggan or fighter of that level

Like as much as I meme Gray ( and it's SO much fun to do so )

He was done the dirty badly

Why in the AU I am currently writing he just gonna be built different

He's Natsu's "rival" for a reason

Yeah in that fanfic I shared earlier, base Gray was able to fight against both Mira and Erza competently, and flat out stomp them in DSM

I know

I read it when u linked it remember

In fact that what partially inspired me to treat Gray even better in my fic than what I was already going to do

I also used the words "built different" as a homage to that fic lmao

When Natsu told Erza and Mira that Gray was so strong simply because...."he's made oddly"

Dude the way that story described the Devil Slayer Mark transformation was hella lit, made the form feel Uber powerful

Well in that mass crossover fanfic I'm writing and will hope to update in the near future (stupid college), Post-Timeskip Gray is definitely going to be a heavy-hitter in Base Alone (not the strongest in the group, but definitely not a push-over).

His Devil Slayer Magic is WAY better than in canon, with it being more advanced AND having plenty of more abilities, both for his Devil Slayer magic and normal ice magic.

Although I will add that when he and Juvia (who in my fanfic will also be a major powerhouse post-timeskip) fight Invel (who is also far stronger than canon due to Zeref encouraging him to train a lot during the 2-year timeskip), he is the one who nearly dies instead of Juvia.

Invel does not live much longer after that.

But Gray will definitely kick some ass before and after the timeskip.

Agreed:

Almost everyone present felt gnarly trills run along the length of their spine when the temperature abruptly plummeted. In the sky, drab bitter clouds tumbled across stretching and stretching until for a brief moment, the storm encompassed nearly half the planet. White nihilistic ice spread across the ground beneath Mirajane and Gray, sparkling mist swirling and rising from the glossy sheen. Slowly forcing his head back to face the she-devil, Gray stood completely unaffected from the most formidable strike Mirajane could muster. Sinister black markings spread across one half of his body, a visualization of venomous power spreading through his every nerve ending. Even the recovering Erza staggered to a knee at the perilous magical energy. Doleful obsidian tattoos practically preened as they stretched like a jagged serpentine over his right side from head to toe, slowly coming up to overlap an eye sock black hair told gravity 'no' as it bristled and spikened, now pointing up and every which way. The ice mage, now stood, a devil slayer.

Wait he created a storm that encompassed half the planet, dude I missed that that's a huge ass feat although after chapter 15 it doesn't seem as impressive

As long as Gray is weaker than Natsu, Erza, and Laxus, I'm fine with him being as strong as necesarry

Gray eventually gonna end up strongest in the guild after Natsu in my fic probably

Well I plan in my fic for Gray to be powerful enough post-timeskip to take on and beat one of the 20 admirals (yes, in my fic there will be 20 admirals and not 3, since it's plot-convenient and also you can't monitor an entire goddamn planet with just 3 admirals) one-on-one.

He actually matches Invel while Juvia wrecks the enemy navy (don't wanna spoil too much), but after the Ice Lock (which Invel only gets in due to exploiting a moment of vulnerability) causes Gray to nearly die instead of Juvia...

Juvia kind of loses it, stomps Invel (since she was trained by Mercphobia himself during the 2-year timeskip), surrounds him in a floating ball of water, and scalds him alive.

Don't mess with Juvia, canon or fanfic.

Dude there's a lot to unpack there

You know, after reading Happy's Heroic Adventure (which is actually pretty good), I just realized how goddamn EVIL General Star is. Yes, the spinoff about HAPPY of all people has arguably the most heinous Fairy Tail villain.

1. Turns hundreds to thousands of sentient animal people into either cyborg soldiers (of whom dozens are shown dead onscreen from being forced to fight in humanity's wars) or into demonic monsters via painfully overloading Marice to activate her powers. He even threatens Turtle and Foxy into obedience by threatening their families.

2. Speaking of Marice, he painfully tortures her to activate her powers, tortures her creator for getting a conscience and turning against him, and later makes her watch as he tries committing genocide on the animal people to emotionally break her.

3. Kills the sentient Mother Computer for turning against him, and when he kills the 3 sentient and living Sacred Treasures, he cackles in front of a sobbing Happy about it.

4. Tries killing all life on the planet.

So yeah, he's arguably worse than Acnologia. And while in his last moments he says that he "just wanted to be happy", this is honestly just him wallowing in selfish self-pity, especially since he doesn't seem to show any actual regret for his actions.

Hell, I'd propose him as a Complete Monster on TV Tropes if I still had my account.

I don't really get why we're scaling Wendy to Haku or Laxus to Kirin currently

For Wendy.....

- Haku was playing around the whole time

- She can counter his hax

- The moment he got slightly serious Wendy couldn't even land a finger on him and the only time she tagged him is when he DELIBARETLY slowed himself down so they could perform the lewd act of touching hands

- When Wendy one shot him, he was mostly distracted with Irene dolls

With Laxus.....it's even worse in this case

- Base Laxus only ever harmed a casual Kirin once, with a surprise attack via his lightning travelling through the ground

- And while yes Red Lightning Dragon Mode blatantly overpowered a casual Kirin, we don't really have any avenue of where a casual Kirin would scale except maybe the same casual Suzaku that one shot Base Natsu and Strongest Armors Erza

- The moment Kirin got "slightly serious" he utterly violated Laxus, beating him so badly steam was coming off his body and while most of the fight was off panel, from what glimpses we did get, much like Haku with Wendy, Laxus couldn't even lay a finger on Kirin and in the words of Kirin, Laxus barely escaped with his life due to the maze changing and considering how badly Laxus was getting trashed, makes complete sense

I mean I think you're just balatanly downplaying Wendy and Laxus... But even then, Kirin and Haku are currently scaling to Base Suzaku, who is his base attacks that downscale from Human Selene

So we're currently scaling their present casual feats to casual Suzaku. Once they get serious and use their full power, they would be scaling to Suzaku's Abyss Art

So we aren't scaling Laxus and Wendy to full power Dragon Slayer Knights or anything yet
