Pre awakened Garou annihilated Golden Sperm tho. And Garou implied Flash could've beaten him in his pre awakening form while Golden Sperm could not
 
Something else that confuses me is in the webcomic, sonic and flashy flash were somewhat equal in their bout, both exchanging blows on each other. does this mean sonic is also above the likes of bang, platinum sperm, etc? not being condescending, genuine question
 
Sonic gets stronger just like Genos. That’s it. Also even in the webcomic Sonic was still weaker than Flashy Flash. Like he was covered in wounds after fighting the Heavenly Ninja Party while Flashy Flash was unharmed. And he also outright admits Flashy Flash is currently stronger at the end of the arc if I remember correctly.

Yeah it’s still impressive. Though considering how much Genos improved it shouldn’t be shocking to see Sonic improve just as much.
 
so we all agree that when murata said he doesn't know who would win between orochi and GS, he wasn't implying that they are equals (still to this day I have no clue how people came to that conclusion) but that he LITERALLY does not know who would win due to a lack of information.

yup. this reddit post from way back when makes me laugh. they thought that atomic cutting jet psykorochi made him superior to flash, who in that picture doesnt have a sword. but funnily enough, even without his sword he's still hanging with PS and garou, the former having made atomic shit his pants in fear

I mean, the guy believes he can beat Saitama after training even though he is always one-shotted, so he must do some crazy training
 
I feel like murata is baiting the fans by consistently showing garou only being as strong as the top tier S-class and cadres for a while, making it seem like he's not that big of a deal as people may have thought, and then he's gonna end up evolving once more and absolutely demolishing both flash and PS, showing that he really is something different. of course webcomic readers could see this coming from a light year away but manga readers are gonna have to change their diapers

I mean at the end of the chapter he showed a combo of taking both PS and FF down even if its only momentarily.

I think he did say that GS was more physically powerful.
Obviously that's not the case now but it was likely the original intention.

Orochi was retconned twice since that statement, and GS was also retconned as he's not the final one anymore.

Murata's statement (at least according to the wiki) doesn't say anything about them scaling to each other, it just says he doesn't know who'd win GS or Orochi and that GS is focused on skill while Orochi is focused on technique, but this doesn't mean GS physically scales to Orochi
 
It is written by ONE and he couldn't finish the series since the final boss(Boros) was too powerful for main character to defeat. Since the author for both series is the same and Boros exists there it should be canon

I will never understand when people say "the villain was so powerful that even the author couldn't beat him!" tf does that even mean? whats stopping the author from giving the protagonist an asspull powerup like every shitty shonen and shoving a chili pepper up the villains ass and blowing him up? the author can literally draw anything he/she wants, nobodys stopping them from drawing the villain getting literally **********. how can a villain be "too strong to be defeated"? like its not a real person lmao

Too powerful to find a way to defeat him. Look at yhwach, there was literally only one way to beat him.
