The Many Canons of One Punch Man

It's no secret at this point that the One Punch Man manga has repeatedly made major alterations to the webcomic continuity and even to its own, from the inclusion of new characters like Elder Centipede and Gouketsu in the manga, to the drastically rewritten battle scene of Phoenix Man and Child Emperor, to the massive buff to Orochi's reworked final form, to the expanded role of Blast and the enigmatic God, and all that's without even considering webcomic developments that haven't happened yet in the manga, from Awakened Garou to the Neo Heroes saga.
So far the Wiki team's only strategy was to rewrite the various character profiles accordingly, going so far as to edit out entirely major parts of the webcomic like the aforementioned Awakened Garou. The manga's new adaptations aren't even entirely "retcon", as the webcomic is still ongoing and using the "old" continuity to support it. I argue that managing the profiles this way is a mistake, and fails to reflect the community-driven nature of versus debating. After all, we already have multiple pages for characters who have multiple versions from remakes and alternate canons of their original works, anything from Hellsing and Hellsing: Ultimate to remakes of video games to the numerous iterations of the DC and Marvel universes. Why not do the same with the versions of One Punch Man characters who have undergone significant changes in their appearances and scaling? Ideally, this should extend both to characters who have new showings in the webcomic or manga (such as Tatsumaki in the manga, Speed-o'-Sound Sonic and Mumen Rider in the webcomic, and Genos in both), and to characters who varied significantly between different editions of the manga itself (such as Phoenix Man and possibly Orochi). As many of these characters have already been explained in the wikia in previous versions of their profiles before, I don't believe this is going to be difficult to do, and it would be great for the community who uses this wikia either way. Thank you.

I 100% agree. I think I mention this before a year ago and while Damage agreed, there was admittedly a lot the manga had yet to cover to see how it differ from the webcomic, besides extend material

to the numerous iterations of the DC and Marvel universes.
And Sonic the Hedgehog too ✌️

drastically rewritten battle scene of Phoenix Man and Child Emperor
On this topic, would we still have our cake and eat it too? What if we made a profile exclusively for cut Phoenix Man, only using the context of the time his fight came out for scaling?

@Emirp sumitpo is currently working on pages for the webcomic versions of characters.

This idea got rejected already, redraws are effectively retcons, so pre-redraw content shouldn’t have pages.

So far the only feat in the webcomic that has been calced is Genos' explosion vs Mosquito Girl as far as I know. Some feats that should be calced are the HOE feat, the base lift, Vaccine Man's feats and maybe Beefcakes feats? Other than those there aren't a lot of feats in the webcomic and a good amount of those are not able to be calced due to the art.

We already said. Those cannot be calced as it's basically impossible to pixel scale that shit. The best we can do is statements and assumptions, as much as the latter sucks, it's our only options

All of them? Some of them are pretty bad, but at least one to two of those are somewhat calcable...I think.

I don't think we can calc the size of the buildings tbh. But if someone manages to do it, then neat I suppose

I've found a way of calculating it without pixel-scaling, it's just that I don't know the name of the shape to find the formula.

It's like an orange slice, but from an ellipsoid rather than a sphere.

Is everyone still against scaling Tatsumaki to Mob?
The main argument was the huge discrepancy between their feats and tiers but with Webcomic Tatsumaki it's a lot closer.

One could even argue he was referring to the webcomic in the first place with that statement.

Even if it matched up exactly, I would be hesitant to scale across different canons like that. It would be a weird thing for the justification to link to a completely different verse.

Anyways, webcomic profiles have been needed for a while now. If the main contributor is no longer working on it actively, then perhaps they should pass it on to people who will.

Plus, having two versions of Saitama lets us have more possible fair matches.

I finished that Genos calculation, by the way.

Here's the drafts if anyone wants to take a look.

I'm not a fan of the ~430x gap between BoS Genos and Psychic Sisters Genos, so any help would be appreciated.

Edit: I could do a specific calculation for Fubuki's feat.

Obviously this has been discussed already but when Saitama said in the webcomic “I’m gonna destroy this world” when he was pissed off, could that be used as an actual scaling or nah… :/

It could be used as supporting evidence if there's ever a planetary feat, but until then it seems like a joke/outlier.

The difference between the high-end of High 6-A and the baseline for Planet Level is like 2000x.
If you consider that an easily bridgeable difference, then... I don't know what to tell you.

Multi-Continent level is very questionable in the webcomic (it's one statement from Boros with zero backing), so it's regulated to a possibly rating with a 'likely far higher' at the end since his feats are all effortless. I guess we could use this as a supporting feat.

Fubuki isn't stronger than the rest of the cast.
Rover nearly killed her. Psykos was more powerful. Anyone who scales to them scales to her.

And don't say she got thousands of times stronger between the MA arc and the Psychic sisters arc. That just doesn't make sense.

Because Saitama isn't always using his full power. FF is also slower than initial awakened Garou, so he can't scale to MHS

Wait, flashy flash can dodge Saitama attacks, why doesn't he get MHS too?
We don't scale anyone to Saitama because he's almost never being serious, let alone using his full power.
You can't classify his punches as either "casual" or "serious", because even the same punches vary drastically.

oh ok i got it
