Rule Violation Reports (New forum)

So, I have a mild feeling of suspicion that the user Otonashi is a sock puppet OkkotsuEdgy. They seem to have been made on the same day around a week ago and Oto only has two posts, which were Otonashi agreeing with OkkotsuEdgy on this thread and both agreeing with this other thread today.

Maybe I'm just being paranoid but they give off a sockpuppet vibe to me.
There have been no sockpuppet warnings so far.

Lock the pages from who? All users? To every pages? I don't think that's a good idea. Only administrators can edit then. But if it's about locking pages from users that aren't autoconfirmed, then the VSB practices dictate that we already do that.

We only lock pages from being edited by all user, if those pages are prone to vandalism, or are popular characters and pages, or characters around tier 1. Because locking and unlocking for any kind of changes, small or big, to any kind of pages, is an absolute inefficiency.
This is correct, yes.

This does look like it might be a premeditated troll going after the profile, particularly due to the grammar of said edits and the amount of edits this user has made so far. Regardless, I will simply lash out a serious warning, telling him the next time something like this happens he will be banned. I don't know if this is the appropriate response, and whether he should be banned straight-up, but this will be the action I shall perform nonetheless.

To be fair, I noticed he made two edits prior to the Buggy thing, both of which was adding image justifications to certain statistics to both Yogiri and Denji. (Though, the links to the Denji images come from a manga sharing website, which needs to be changed)

This was the only reason why I was considering doing a major warning instead of a full-on ban.

Is some other staff member willing to provide warnings to both members please?

Okay. That is good.

What about Bigsmoke?

Perhaps a very short block? Bigsmoke does seem unwilling to shape up, though his offenses aren’t too terribly bad.

Maybe a very strict warning would be enough?

The issue is that he is just obnoxious, and that's it. He doesn't spam, derail, threaten, insult, or harrass, for example.

Another stern warning or a week/month ban should be more than enough imo. As annoying as it could be, I don't think being obnoxious is a perma-ban worthy offense tbh.

Okay. How about two weeks? Just be careful to not ban his IP addresses as well.

I think you're overestimating just how bad a two week ban is. I'm on this site almost every day and even I wouldn't see two weeks as that big a deal.

I'm still a huge fan of a stern, last-chance warning. Smoke did something that was harmless, and though it was obnoxious, this does not mean he deserves a TWO WEEK BAN. Can we please not overreact here? We know he has ban banned for 3 months I believe, but that situation was far worse.
2 weeks is not that severe of a ban.

It may be an overreaction if we treated this as a one time event, sure. But it's a consistent action that he's been punished for previously and hasn't shaped up at all. That's the whole point of something like a tally system, their punishments get worse because they keep doing the wrong thing.
