Hi, what are your thoughts on Slow-Mo Calculation in Manhwa/Manga and trying to change it?
I've been seeing a lot of "Slow-Mo" calc's, specifically for Manhwa's lately. I think these lead to highly inflated calculations especially because people keep applying to instances of two duplicate panels are almost the same except one person's placement is different. All because of this one line "In this case, if a reference object with known speed can be visually confirmed to not have moved even 1 pixel (which requires the feat to happen in a visual media like a comic, movie or animation) one can figure out the timeframe, by saying that it must have been less than the timeframe that the object would have taken to move 1 pixel."
Frankly, I just don't think Manhwa's are good medium for this description considering how many Manhwa Artists use this technique which I honestly believe it's because they want to skimp out on some effort. Though sometimes it might be an actual slow-mo scene as either a certain object is visually drawn to slow down (like rain) but typically not the case. This might not be that big of an issue because usually the verse CRT's decline these kind of calc's but wanted to hear a CGM's opinions.
I'm not sure about the latter one since I haven't read V23 fully to know that answer for sure.
