So I went and decided to buy that Novel Anthology of Gahkthun last night. Surprisingly enough, the price went down by like a hundred bucks, so I got it for 131...well 143 cuz of tax. But I did get free shipping at least.

Very pricy to get but considering the last time I saw it, I feel like I got a good deal out of it. What a time to buy it when it was Halloween too lol. Now I have to wonder what it's condition is since the only thing I got was saying "it is in very good condition"...which still leaves me a bit concern there but I'll see to it.

Don't think so. According to Atwiki, the novel is a series of 5 stories that weren't mentioned in the main VN.

Two of them take place a few yrs before the events of the VN, another two takes place during it, and the fifth and last one taking place what I assume to be after Gahkthun. 5 of the stories were written by different writers and drawn by different artists, including Sakurai herself and Senmaiba(?) (the games char designer and artist).

What I want to buy it for was primarily cuz it apparently has a full map of the island in it (though if it's anything like Shining Night that I saw and posted, that's not gonna help us knowing how much GK was gonna **** up I imagine) and a guy named Douglas Fairbanks, who, believe or not, is the sole survivor of New York's "Great Disappearance".

That and art...really love art stuff.

Short stories huh, interesting.

Is Tesla in those stories before the VN i wonder? Maybe we will see him crushing that organization in the US?

Also interested in knowing more about Fairbanks.

Yup. Remember, if you didn't see them in Gahkthun that's cuzed they weren't mentioned. But I assume they are canon as it took in-between like...whenever.

He is but the prequel-ish ones don't have it from the looks of it, just centering around Mariselle. I will say that he and Neon apparently encounter a Meta=Critter in the presumably post-Gahkthun story. That's something I want to get to eventually.

Fairbanks...this guy is pretty something. He's apparently trained in some style of Ninjutsu, fought Tesla supposedly out of mixing him with the "Man of Steel" for not saving NYC, and fights a Critter from a guy that stole some of Nightingale's Art. I think I read a bit about him having an Art that allows him to hack the arts of others...but the wording out of Gaggle made it look confusing but I think that's the gust of what I could make out.

Meta=Critter? The users of them where from the research group with Josef, but all of them should be dead, unless another research group exists.

Fairbanks fought a Critter and can hack arts? Cool.

Well it's something to look forward to after Karsheel.

It has something to do with a "Wallace Network System", which is something that would could be called the internet or World Wide Web but IDK any other context to it.

Aye. But he actually doesn't have any powers. Not even an Arts. This guy he fought is the one with the Hacking Arts, which he used to steal some of Nightingale's powers to then create a Criiter called La B├¬te du Gévaudan, some French myth beast from the sounds of it.

It'll be my second project to do after Karsheel, yes.

It's interesting how concepts brought up in previous VN's keep repeatedly being brought up; Critters, Meta=Critters, wouldn't be surprised if Abhorrors get brought up somewhere other than Valusia.

I was surprised that Cracking is a thing even in a world like Karsheel. Always a surprise to see it pop up somewhere else indeed kek.

I'm expected to get it between aroun Thanksgiving and around the start of next month. Hopefully it's got a bunch of art panels to take pics of.

I forgot to mention that the book only has 132 pgaes and they're of B5 paper size, which is almost as big as a letter sized print paper kek.

I was thinking on saving this until I get the actual book (if and when I do), but I think Tesla might get another justification of NPI cuz the Meta=Critter he and Neon encounter in the story Sakurai wrote herself can enter into Information Space kinda like Bandersnatch was for Inganock's. Though IDK what really goes on after since Atwiki only really describes it briefly and what abilities it has. It does have something with the chapters plot about that Wallace Network System but can't really say any further than that.

But Tesla being able to interact with information tho...just another thing to learn how versatile his lightning can get.

Also fun fact, the chapter where Douglas shows up is called "What a Shining League" (no JAP title text, just that kek) and was written by Jin Haganeya who you may or may not know as the guy who wrote for the Demonbane series...not that I've got into that series cuz of how controversial ish it can be.

Appears so. Still, I'm curious enough to want it to know if Tesla interacted with it in anyway. If he does, that's just another thing to add for his page on NPI :)

I'm also thinking if I should read(watch) Gahkthun while I'm doing Karsheel's chp4. Cuz that chp won't be done for until around December (and to say this in advance, it has a bunch more line breaks at various points) and we're not getting Sona Nyl for a long time until around next yr.

Although if I do, it'd be more to counterbalance the depression the chapter will bring and so I actually get a pretty good idea of the main VN with the Novel Anthology. Would be stupid as heck if I did it without at least going through Gahkthun first.

Well finally lol, you have been holding on Gahkthun for a year now.

But yea doing the Anthology wouldn't seeing the VN would be dumb.

Well over a year I think lol.

I could maybe do the glossary which I'm sure should have it, but definitely leaving the chapters alone until I get through Karsheel and Gahkthun.

Started watching Gahkthun. Pretty refreshing to get back into the main series considering what I've been looking at (Karsheel) for the past several months lol.

Neon's a pretty quiet girl from what I'm seeing so far. Guessing that's a thing I'll be seeing a lot in the VN?

Idk about her being quiet, but Neon throughout the story couldn't be honest with herself, i mean this in terms of her feelings for Tesla.

Yeah. Think I'll get to the part Tesla is introduced as a transfer student and declare war on the council.

Speaking of, would that declare him as a vigilante student? Apparently Gahkthun's novel has plenty mentions for it and there's even a group of them named after the chapter Douglas appears in but they're all like the good guys in a way. Tesla is a member and so is Douglas, and some others I have zero idea WTF they are.

Some sort of vigilante group going against the council? The VN made it seem like he was the only 1 going going up against the council.

Nah that's against any trouble making students. Douglas, Tesla, and others go around to bring those that do bad stuff and send them to the school city police.

Though it seems like a post Gahkthun thing, which makes a lot more sense.

That's one hell of a vigilante group with Tesla in it lol. And if it's post-Gahkthun, pretty sure no rouge/misbehaving student wouldn't want to get his attention lol.

Douglas is even just as absurd since this guy, if Atwiki is anything to go by and until I do his chapter, he's got only Ninjustu style learning and some gear that sounds like some shit out of Attack on Tita yet he fought Tesla and even a Critter despite lacking any sort of power whatsoever lol. I'm gonna love this guy when I get the book, hopefully before Thanksgiving week.

So there's apparently a second transfer student named "Antoine de Saint-Exupery that's also a member of the Shining League like Tesla and Fairbanks.

According to atwiki, he's apparently a victim of an attack from an incarnation of Nyar in the past on his hometown or something and has been chasing after it so it wouldn't claim any more victims...supposedly.

Has some kind of lantern that gathers some light made of Irishin Steel that creates some god body called Zofiel which he used against a "husk" or "empty shell" of Nyar. WTF that means, I'm even more excited to get my hands on the book lol

If what I read out there is true. I'm even surprised someone's even going after one of Nyar lol.

Surprising is that he, Fairbanks and a girl are new chars from the novel that all appear in it that later create the Shining League with Tesla. There's also one more char that's also another member in the story Sakurai wrote that has the Meta=Critter in it (which the title is called "Dragon of Deception").

Hopefully when I get the book and finish up Karsheel and Gahkthun I can get to working on it. I think Shining League and Dragon of Deception will probably be the ones I like the most...when/if I get to it.

CM Nyar's Avatars have a varied rating, which seems to fit that not all avatars of Nyar in this verse are gonna be M and Edison (w/o Golden Eye and Yog Space Time buffs) tier. That would be crazy on the Nyar scaling if you think about it lol.

A's an avatar of Nyar AFAIK or at least growing into one, though whether that means he'll be as powerful as M and Edison is beyond me.

How powerful is the True Narlathotep i wonder, if Edison and M are just avatars.

Outer Gods apparently exist outside the multiverse from what i have heard.

Btw mind giving this thread some input, haven't got much input so far.

Well existing outside an infinite multiverse is just 2-A, hope there is more to it than that.

Where are the Outer Gods even mentioned?

Same.

Another thing I wish I know where the info is from. I'm hoping it's not some side mats thing.

If it's in Sona Nyl that'd be neato.

If Sona-Nyl goes into Edison backstory and Yog-Sothoth, then the other Outer Gods have to be mentioned so yea lets hope Sona Nyl doesn't blue ball us by not giving any info on Edison besides the fact he is evil.
