Accel vs Ainz

Base Post-Headshot Accel

Both are in character

They start out 20 meters apart from each other.

Speed Equalized

No knowledge nor prep time for both.

VOTES:

Accel: 1 (TIHYDDWBE)

Ainz: 1 (FDrybob)

Inconclusive:

AcceleratorPostheadshot
Ainz Anime

I'll see if he does or not but this feels like a spite match because Ainz is goung to win by default since anyone with timestop wins by default against Accel. So what is the point of this match up?

Ainz used time stop like what 2 times so far in the series, he definitely doesn't start with it enough for us to say he would in a match

^

A character can have a bunch of hax but not start with them in character

^^

Exactly my point. Anyone with timestop has an instant win against Accel, it doesn't matter when they use it, whether they use it in character a lot or not. Even if you say Accel finishes off the fight as quickly as possible by using remote control vectors, the argument would be X uses time stop and wins.

That's not how it works though, we argue based on how characters can win In-Character

As in what they normally start out a match doing and how they normally fight in their source media

Ah, okay. I thought Dark hero momon might be a seperate key. Well if this is the case then it's even more of a stomp in Ainz's favour. Accel has basically everything against him in this match, time stop being the biggest one. I mean can he even put Ainz down? It seems he can't be killed by anything and on top of that Accel will hold back as the battle takes place in what looks like a city, so he won't want others to be harmed during the battle. Kinda like how he held back against Kakine.

It is in character for him to use instant death or time-stop, it is just the circumstances and who or what he's facing matter. If he were facing an opponnent he judges to be on equal footing he would absolutely use it. Against Gazef, as soon as he made it PVP Ainz didn't hold back and left a 'git good noob' note on him. Against an undead he judged to be on equal footing to himself, he used [Reality Slash] while also thinking of using [Time Stop] but could not due to the circumstance. Against a dragon he saw as a threat he had used [Time Stop].

And the author had stated this:

[Having time-stop and instant death counter measures are absolutely required to face Ainz.

Only then can one feel they are standing on an equal footing. Shalltear is a good example.] - Author thoughts volume 9

So it's actually up there when it comes to what he'll use out of his 718 spells.

We already knew Ainz was going to win this as soon as time stop was involved. Maybe I should do a Akame vs. Accel match up instead, that might be interesting,.

That would be true if he started with that but the majority of the time he does not start with it

@muchacho

So if we want to say that Ainz opens with it on people he views as significant threats or those who he views as equal there is even less of a chance for him to start with it.

He has no prior knowledge and the amount of people in his verse that are threats or equals is pretty low, there is no reason he would think that Accel is a threat and instantly time stop, at least not before Accel just 1 shots

@Paul Frank

Yes. Sort of like, [Grasp Heart] and then he'll be shocked if it's resisted, then he'll either cast a damaging spell or [Time Stop].

Uhh

Akame hits the shield once and dies

There are no citizens around.

in the Evileye side story Ainz talked about how he used Time Stop on one of the Dragon Lords when he fought him, but it was resisted, and then when he fights another Dragon Lord, Cure Elim, he debates using Time Stop on him, but decides if one Dragon Lord resisted it, this one probably would too

Although even then, he debated using it just to see if the skeletons Cure surrounded himself in would be affected by it, effectively trapping him

So that's one instance of him using it on an opponent he wouldn't have prior knowledge of, and a second time where he debated using it again, but ultimately thought it wouldn't work/wouldn't be worth it

So this battle depends on if he uses Time Stop or not, if he uses any spell that has vectors he's instantly dead

Oh wait. It's Post Accy, didn't read correctly

I already wanted to make that argument with citizens but good to know

I'm not an expert on Ainz or Overlord so I'll wait for more input to say something

She will find a way. I mean it's not that hard.

Find a way when your opponent has High 1-C vector shield that reflects everything you throw at him?

well, death magic doesn't have vectors
or at least the ones Ainz likes to use
Tbh, Accelerator is strange one when it comes to this since he has reflected and controlled things that aren't considered a vector but a scalar in real life. Then again death magic might not come under either catergory really as death is more of a concept.

Accel vs Esdeath would have been considered a stomp solely because Esdeath has timestop, and yet it wasn't a stomp because she doesn't use it in character.
that match was a shit show anyway
