WILD ROSES!!!

To be honest, I think, as Ogbu says, it's better if they focus on one big FF at once, especially after seeing how the production problems constantly hurt XV's full potential.

I dont deny it is better that way. I just wanted to know if any of you had heard or seen anything related to XVI.

Nope. They definitely didn't mention it and I don't think there have been leaks or anything like that, usually 4chan would be on that.

Let's crosd our fingers and hope that VII remake will be a huge success.

On a side note: WHERE IS MY 3DS VI REMAKE?!

I really hope they'll make a remake for VI like they do with VII. But I doubt that since it doesn't have nearly the mainstream popularity that VII has.

But I'll settle for a 3DS remake, wouldn't mind that at all.

Oh, I mean, a super big, super realistic VI remake would rock. But I dont expect that.

To be honest I'd love it if they forgot about the "tecno" or "futuristic" or "modern" fantasy and went back to "middle ages". With a main character whose initial job you can pick and then learn a secondary job. Maybe you could hire party members and/or more relevant to the plot characters.

More... Like it felt to play FF III and V... I really, really loved those games.

I do not know if I understand, what exactly is to be discussed here?
Anything Final Fantasy related. Feel free to talk about anything.

I would say that I understand a lot of FF, but since I always have a doubt about sephiroth, in the last moments of its supernova it seems that the galaxy itself was destroyed and not just the sun, notice that the explosion in the background is blue and spiral like the galaxy: https://youtu.be/2CCI-UZtEi4

if it is really the galaxy then Kotr is not unconscious (because its dimension has countless stars)

in the center is clearly the supernova cloud, but around it looks much like a galaxy, is blue, rotates, has a spiral shape and galactic arms (spiral arms)

Final Fantasy VI is the only classic Final Fantasy where I consider the original SNES version the best, the others always have remakes on PSP/Steam/IOS/GBA ect. being far better than the originals.

@Medeus: That game is just phenomenal. The others had shortcomings that needed heavy polishing due to their age or other issues, though VI had its issues in the combat, everything else is top notch so really big changes aren't really needed, aside extra content for more funsies.

Though from what I've heard, the IOS port isn't very good.

@Zero: Well, perhaps the rotation was added given the explosion just took place or for dramatic value, but if you look for pics you'll see that many remnants do have blue colorations and many tones. Also gassy particles mixed with faraway stars that make the whole picture a bit confusing (though I don't know if the real Supernova Remnants have any motion). While I fully expect the Supernova to make an epic comeback, I wouldn't be surprised if Sephy pulls a new even more ridiculously destructive move.

VI had by far the best story IMO, and the combat was top notch. The only real criticism was some of the censorship made the text look weird; there are times where you see 4 or 5 "*" points replaced words. Which it would have been preferable to just use a different word, as those are basically censored swear words. I personally like the GBA version of the game though; it was critiqued for inferior engine that didn't quite translate well as IV or V. BUt yeah, other remakes had bad character design among other things.

The NES games were pretty dated for the most part and glitchy, but the remakes have thankfully fixed those issues. IV was too easy on the SNES, but the GBA, 3DS, PSP, ect were all real awesome with the hardcore difficulty. V was best on GBA though. And VII was dated in PS1, but the remakes all have great improvements.

I think VI and VII had a similar flaw in their combat, it's too easy and exploitable. Both had excellent concepts and customization in itself was very fun to play around with, but suffer from combos or characters that can easily bust the game, greatly overshadowing other options unless you porpusefully avoid using them, as well as powering your way through with basics also isn't hard to do, but this was a problem in general with old school games with levels and grinding.

Heck yeah, VI was the first story to embrace the darker themes and drama for compelling stories. Well, IV had its share of it, but it was considerably more optimistic. Gotta love how everyone in VI had it's backstory to show, even if it was optional. Could it get melodramatic? Well, yes. Was it awesome? You bet!

To be fair, the translation did have some good pluses, namely Kefka's famous black comedy and nihilism going over the top were first in the translation. Ultros was also very memorable, when his lines were adapted.

Yeah, the Dialogue was excellent, it's just the occasional censored swearing are just some notable knit picks. Kefka is easily the best villain in the series and Ultros is also great; especially during the time Relm drew his picture.

There are ways to make Final Fantasy VI more challenging, just use some of the more underdog characters like Mog and Setzer rather than Terra or Sabin. And the game was easy overall, but it wasn't like spam press A levels of easy. Also had to save MP for boss fights still. It's the closest game in the series to being on par with Chrono Trigger. Which is called by many as the perfect JRPG.

Don't forget Dancing Mad, his fantastic final boss theme.

From what I've seen around, Ultros kept being hilarious in his further appearances in other games, especially with voiced appearances (one of his VAs is Dave Wittenberg, the same as Kefka, amusingly).

Chrono, eh? God flipping dammit I love that game. I think it just nailed how the mystery around Lavos kept advancing with answers and questions, among many other amazing things.

My boi ultros and his career is one of the best things in VI.

So... given they didn't have anything, I made profiles for Barret, RedXIII and Yuffie.

Couldn't find any full body renders for them, sadly (then again, the ones we have from Dissidia except for Vincent Ludwing Valentino who lucked out with DoC). Gonna do Cid and Cait Sith next and save Aerith for last due to how vastly different her overall abilities are.

I'm not certain, but I'd probably go with no. But I could ask Everlasting for confirmation.

Gogo from V aint the same from VI. But th later is very based on the former.

The only recurring characters among the franchise are those who openly travel dimensions such as Gilgamesh, Omega and Shinryu, right? Everyone else is a different incarnation, like the Cids

The FFV cast don't actually fight Gogo, and there's no proof that they're the same person. And yeah, Gilgamesh, Omega, and Shinryu are pretty much the only characters that are the same in each incarnation. Except in FFXV which has its own Gilgamesh.

Blasphemy, it's just the same good ol Gil, pretending to be someone else, so we let our guards down and he can strike. Clearly he follows Musashi Miyamoto's teachings in pragmatic aproach to combat. ovo

and as I said before there are proofs that support the theory (they have the same clothes, same name, same abilities and can access the void)

also, not all gilgamesh are the same

You canonically defeat Gogo but doing absolutely nothing. And all except for XV are the same; the ones from FF1 remakes, FFV, FFVI remakes, FFVIII, and Dissidia are the same though.

Nop, Gilgamesh of FF Type-0 is also not the same, he is an i'cie (demigod), king of Lorica, one of the countries that has in the game and an important personage for history (not only an apparition)

Note: it is impossible to stop being an I'Cie, an i'cie that does not fulfill its objectives dies, and those who fulfill become crystals

For Noctis. When he claims his first Royal Arm Cor explains how the process works with "The Power of Kings passed from the old to the new through the bonding of souls" Could Noctis in this case get some minor Soul Manipulation hax? Also the way he defeats Ardyn in the end of the story could be chalked up to Existence Erasure .

Well, I can't really speak given I (still) havent' played XV, but given Ardyn has a "likely Low-Godly" Regenerationn it could count.

Everlasting said he was going to take care of XIII and XV, I know XIII has statements that could be interpreted as 2-A.

Sweet! So, what is the reivision group working on? I know you are focusing on FFI and that Xyz and Glass are participating as well, I think Blackcurrant is also part of it, so VIII is also on the works. My only gripe with 2-A XIII is that WoL won't be the most powerful FF hero.
