Tenth round of the High 8-C Brackets Begins! The last round was a tie; and a tiebreaker placed Po in the next set of rounds.

Current Standings (A "-1" indicates the fighter was disqualified or was stomped)

The contenders for this round are Nikola Tesla (Super Science Friends), submitted by your host, Dargoo Faust, and Lung, submitted by DragonEmporer23.

Speed is not equalized. Battle takes place in 1944 London, 20m apart.

Tesla has a 5.4 Ton feat, Lung scales to 4.44 Tons.

So, to kick off arguments;

Lung is definitly the more skilled fighter compared to Tesla, hands down. Should Lung engage Tesla in hand to hand combat Tesla will probably get the shit kicked out of him, as his best skill feat is just doing fisticuffs with Edison; which isn't really much compared to an experienced street fighter.

Tesla has a decent ranged game though, and given his personality he'd probably keep his distance and do a ranged fight wtih Lung. I doubt his explosions would do much but his general electricity-based attacks should give Lung a decent amount of trouble.

That said, Lung's Regenerationn and gradual power increase coupled with Tesla's low stamina means that Telsa can't keep distance and fire off projectiles, as eventually Lung will gain flight, regenerate from the damage he inflicts, and gain an AP advantage.

After a long fight I'll give this to Lung; which is sad as I wanted Super Science Friends to get some love.

Anyways. They both have flight they can abuse (even though it isn't super in-character for Tesla, I see no reason he wouldn't default to flying against a flying enemy) so that ain't an issue. Range isn't an issue for either, though if Tesla outmaneuvers Lung he could have an easy range advantage.

AP is obviously not a huge issue. Speed isn't equal but it seems both are about baseline Subsonic so again, not an issue. Through Reactive Evolution Lung can overcome the small AP gap, though I am not sure if he has already reached his peak at High 8-C through this way.

Limited Regenerationn could help though not much against being cooked alive. Overall they both maintain similar limited methods of attack (projecting some form of energy, be it flame or electricity). I know it sounds stupid but honestly the pigeons might help Tesla as a distraction if he's willing to take that chance with his birds.

So overall in an incredibly close matchup I'm leaning Tesla, they share a lot of the same abilities and methods but Tesla's minor AP gap, potential range abuse, and literally pigeons could give him situational advantages.

Vote: Tesla.
 
Tesla has the advantage here with Flight, as Lung has no means to reach him.

The problem I see here is that since Tesla will amp himself with electricity to overpower Lung's regen, Lung will continuously amp himself in strength and speed with the need to compete, so the fight becomes one who will only grow in strength while the other only gets more tired and weaker.

My vote here is for Lung via attrition, 5.5/10.
 
To be fair if Tesla is pushed to his limit he could self-destruct, although that doesn't really change the results much.

Bambu brings up some good points, however Tesla just doesn't have the stamina to win a long fight like this, compared to someone like Lung who can fight for hours on end.
 
To be clear, I know Lung is the superior skilled fist-to-fist fighter. However based on the profile it looks like he's a dragon- probably not going to be pulling off complex martial arts in dragon form.

And yeah Tesla's stamina is kinda shit, meaning the match needs to be fought quickly or without significant exertion or he's ded. I believe he can manage that, however.
 
I'm going to side with Lung here. I feel Lung will overcome the AP gap fairly quickly. Neither of them have ranged attacks that are strictly better than the other. And unless the pigeons are also High 8-C, they can be one shot. And Lung's regen will help him from whatever small free hit Tesla can get from it.

They seem pretty similar, but the notable exceptions are Lung's better stamina, CQC skill, regen, and reactive evolution.

So I'm going to side with Lung here.
 
Also, here is a dragon that knows martial arts. While we may view what humans do as complex, I think it's false equivalence to compare the fighting arts of humans to that of animals. They're totally different species, with completely different strengths and weaknesses. I'm sure that mixing flight into one's art form when they can indeed fly would be quite complex and efficient for a dragon.
 
He knows fighting moves, I wouldn't call it Martial Arts in the same sense.

Lung has Martial Arts based on street fighting. I don't think any dragon ever has shown a capacity for street fighting tactics.
 
Oh, maybe.

I mean, I'm sure some dragon in some verse out there has. I can't recall if Jake Long was officially trained in martial arts or not.
 
He was in-training IIRC and he was a Human-Dragon creature more than an actual dragon. Granted, this is a Lung (those long chinese dragons) but still, street fighting I suspect is for his human form.
 
Oh, that's probably right. I was thinking Lung was only a dragon despite know that isn't true.

And I suppose that's true. Dragons can take different shapes.
