Yeah, hence my point of them making it a waifu-collecting game being the trashiest thing they can do as a fallback because it shows they have no faith in the game to make it on its own merits and decide to just waifu it up because that's literally the easiest thing to do is exploit male loneliness.

I kinda wonder if that's Hoyo's way of not pissing off their male side of the fanbase that wanted to have playable bros when that couldn't be a thing before back in HI3 LOL.

It sorta is from one of their game modes or something but I seem to still recall back then and think even now how people of that game hate playable males...

Even so, the fem to male ratio is undeniable high.

Cunning Hares: 1 male (Billy)

Victoria Housekeep: 1 male (Lycaon)

Section 6 (Eridu Seal Team 6): 1 (Harumesa)

N.E Pub Security (Police): 1 (Seth), and that's still if you disclude Jane whose technically not affiliated with them.

SoC: 1 (Lighter)

The only sort of outlier is Belobog Construction with Anton and Ben. Maybe SoC cuz we got Big Daddy as still a thing but that's if he even becomes playable in the future.

It's really ass even then lol.
 
I guess it depends on the market ZZZ is trying to find. I resent the notion that girls make the most money, because it's skewed towards the fact that the straight male market has been the largest share of the gacha game industry because, duh, gamers. But there clearly are instances of girls enjoying and splurging on gacha-related content if it's catered well enough towards them.

Other games like Love and Deepspace, Tears of Themis, and Shining Nikki show that there is a market for girls as well as men-lovers. It's a question of what they think will sell among people who enjoy a game like Zenless Zone Zero. The game is clearly more sexualized given its more exaggerated jiggle physics and I would personally say more outrageous angles.

I think guys have the opportunity to be really cool, and overall, the guys actually have a better design over the girls imo, but ultimately, it is what sells and what is appealing. There needs to be a good opportunity for the next S-Rank to captivate the audience the way Zhongli, Aventurine or Neuvilette has, and when that happens, the game can more comfortably introduce more guys

That would now have to depend on what the revenue is for people trying to get Lycaon for ZZZ given he's still the only S-rank male Agent we got for the game.

That or it's gotta be some banner rate up for the future male Agents like Ligther and Harumesa, and whoever else we can get for Agents like Big Daddy.

IK, but the list is gonna get even bigger when Jane Doe officially drops ontop of the upcoming characters like Caesar and Burnice for the Sons of Caldyon. Not to mention there is this leaked group regarding a trio of idols (basically ZZZ's Vtubers or smth) who are also all females.

Even with Seth coming along and characters like Lighter, Big Daddy, and Harumesa in the future, the female playable agents got them beat if this keeps up xD.

It'll be a closer ratio, but still overclocked with females lol.
 
To get an idea of how the ratio is, including for those leaked to be future playable, this is how it really is.
  • Cunning Hares: Nicole, Anby, Billy, Nekomata. 3 Fems, 1 male.
  • Victoria Housekeep: Lycaon, Ellen, Corin, Rina. 1 male, 3 fems.
  • Belobog Constructions: Koleda, Grace, Anton, Ben. 2 fems, 2 males.
  • New Eridu Police (Pub Sec): Zhu, Qingyi, Seth. 2 fems, 1 male. If you add Jane by technicality of being with them on the Factions trailer we had a short while ago, that adds another fem to the group.
  • Sons of Caldyon: Lucy, Piper, Lighter, Burnice, Caesar. 1 male, 4 fems. Even with Big Daddy possibly being added, that's still only just 2 males for this group.
  • Idol Group (leaked group): The names I'm not 100% confident if they're true but they're seemingly Archangel related and most of all, they're all females. That's 3 females lol.
  • N.E Seal Team Six (Section 6): Miyabi, Soukaku, Harumesa, Yanagi. 3 fems, 1 male.

Basically by 1.2 if not 1.3 or a 1.4 depending when the Idol Group even show up, we will literally have a total of 21 female characters and a mere 8 males that are all playable.

In other words, we are barely off the barrel of not getting ****** with husbandos/bros here xD

Eh, it depends. This is a comp list on Reddit with all of the names of characters that are/should/likely be playable.

Apparently Lighter was said on here to be S rank but doesn't seem like that's known or concrete enough yet. Harumesa is put as S rank but there's a ? next to his rarity rank which I think denotes it as being debatable?

Though as it is right now, it very much is with Seth being a confirmed A rank and the only S rank male is a furry (Lycaon) xD.
 
I did some pulls here and there.

First I got Nekomata, and then I got Qingyi for her rate up banner.

NGL, I was surprised I even got her since i usually do these pulls out of a whim xD
 
I don't want to risk it lol I need Jane Doe and any chance of not getting her because of a poorly timed pull would devastate me lol

Since I got Qingyi, now I'll focus on getting to Jane.

If I don't get her after a few batch rolls, I'm going all in for the SONS of Caldyon owo
 
I actually got Nekomata from Standard earlier LOL, I really want Rina or Grace to show up because I don't want to have to choose between them when I hit 300 pulls on standard
 
I remember getting Grace from Zhu Yuan's banner, and I think Rina was either standard or Ellen's banner for her but I got both of them lol.

Though I'm honestly disappointed I never got Zhu Yuan (not just cuz of THICCCness owo) only because I really would like another Ether-type character for my team.

Nicole's still great but it'd be nice to have another teammate that's different but also can add some more for Ether-based missions.
 
Nicole is really great for Zhu Yuan and I run her as part of the Cunning Hares team. I might gun for a Physical team with Jane, Seth, and someone else since I also managed to pull the Officer Cui Bangboo (whose bonus is only effective for teams with two PubSec members)

I like how Hoyo even decded to do a special program for ZZZ after just 2 patches just like how they're doing for HSR for a while now.

It's also got more scenes of 1.2's story patch, a minigame teaser of sorts, more characters we're likely to receive based on the leaks, and ofc gameplay of Caesar and Burnice that's neat.



Also, their music is a banger as ever.
 
We're probably going to get some of good feats on 1.2 since the new boss isn't a mob leader but rather the hollow creature (+69 with that weaponized motorcycle)
 
Things are definitely ramping up with what we were teased with in the 1.2 teaser.

Hopefully we don't have to wait on 1.3 or even 1.4 to start making profiles.
 
Anyways, I hope the new chars are good man.

Especially Caesar, Burnice, and that one furry Thiren.

I want all of that good meatiness~
