Don't the rwby gods have like four notable feats? Created the artifacts that gifted mankind will, knowledge ect, destroyed a chunk of the moon casually and wiped out most life on the planet with a hand wave, afaik they haven't really done anything to give them the feats necessary to battle yhwach.

Heck there's enough doubt about their absolute knowledge/power that salem only has low high regen despite being cursed by them with eternal life/inability to die.
