I mean, I have not seen much of dragonball, but I think most of Yamcha's abilities are actually not for his first key?

I don't think he has the advantage in martial arts with gandalfr active (though that is probably actually close) and at this level of combat one can still talk about the advantage fighting with a weapon brings over fighting barehanded.

While my own memory of the specifics of early DB is pretty hazy, I know he can at least use his wolf fang fist in all of his keys and funny enough, in his this key he does carry a sword
