Personally I would've rather had Gogeta

It would've been a mortal fusion technique vs a godly fusion technique, keeping up with the theme of the arc, and you could've made Spirit Bomb Super Saiyan a bit more plausible with Gogeta possibly lending his Soul Punisher to Trunks for him to finish the fight.

Gogeta is okay too, yeh, but Toei seems to leave gogeta as non canon forever. Also I'd have bought Gogeta's fusion running out of gas much easier than Vegito's.

srsly they turned Vegito into Gogeta with all the nerfs thy did to him in Zamasu arc, it's hurt me really when author recton his story canon just for the sake of fan-service, no wonder people call DBS fan-service series

Considering the fact that Vegito (1h fusion) lasted about 7 minutes, Gogeta in SSB would last about 7 seconds. You could argue that Vegito defused due to Final Kamehameha being too powerful and that's what shorten fusion time-span... But then Again Gogeta SSB wouldnt be able to even Finish his Stardust Breaker, he would defuse before that.

Nothing prove fusion dance will be shorter than Potara fusion after the recton, Gogeta is also way more serious than Vegito he would get shit done instead of dicking around "although in SSJ4 he was the same as Vegito"

I am just waiting for another recton in case they want to bring back Vegito again or make Gogeta canon, or maybe the will ignore the whole thing? I dunno

That's not remotely true.

In Z he was surpassed by Gohan, Gotenks, Buu and Vegito. He wasn't close to being the strongest, and he was still surpassed by the Angels, Grand Priest and Zen-Oh in Super.

I think that Goku will go U.I again. However, he's not going to surpass Whis here. BUT, IN THE NEW SERIES, there are still possibilities.

Hell, I daresay that Toriyama will make Goku and Omnipotent Fighting LEGEND by the end of all this. For all we know, there may be INFINITE TIMELINES out there (Mostly because of Toriyama retcons). There may be Infinite 5-D/6-D Dimensions. DB can still expand. Super only proved this.

I can bet my left arm that Toriyama doesnt even want Goku to be High 1A being. I dont even know if Toriyama knows what it is. After all his mindset is not set on creating Goku as stronger being (because he would gave him some haxx), but rather giving him challenge and making story still appealing.
