Will Goku surpass Whis in the upcoming Dragon Ball Super film?

I'm 99% sure Toriyama never said that, and that is one of those fan rumor things like Kishimoto saying that Madara = Nappa.

No. The dub never added filler scenes as they were present in the original version and dubbed alongside the series, these inclused the Ginyu possessing Bulma body episode, the Anime version of hell with the villains seeing Goku vs Kid Buu and etc.

It's not filler, it's anime extension to the scene Toriyama couldn't put down in the manga. Toriyama said it himself, he prefers Dragon Ball Kai as a material over his manga. Anime extension =/= filler. Going by your logic, Kaio-ken in Dragon Ball Super anime is not canon, because Goku dopped using Kaio-ken ever since he learned Super Saiyan in the manga.
 
Except that Frieza in Kai is depicted in hell alongside fellow villains in his final form when we know in Super that he was in a cocoon in his Mecha Form. Goku learned the Kaioken in the manga and all the other version, and decided to not use the KK until agaist Hit since the SS is an overall better form to use in battle.
 
inb4 goku somehow fights vegito in the new movie and wins, therefore goku is superior to goku and scales forever into high 1A

Toriyama didn't have that much say over what Toei did in the anime.

Again, even assuming this scene is canon, it's an inconsistency with everything else in the manga.

The DBS anime is canon because it came before the DBS manga.

But so why don't you agree with Yamcha being way above Super Perfect Cell? Is it because this fight never happened in the original story and it's totally inconsistent? Same with this fight.

Yeah. The anime came first, with the manga being an adaptation of the anime.

I like the manga more and I dont care for canoncities in shows unless we are dealing with crossovers (muh 4-B luffy).

So Im personally neutral. I like the idea of hakai goku and FZ with all the new stuff of the manga.
 
The manga's first chapter released before the anime's first episode was aired, but the manga is explicitly an adaptation of the anime. The anime > manga. Also the anime begun production far before the manga did.
 
the fact is that unlike the anime which has been stated in interviews to have changed many things from akira's outline while Toriyama personally oversees and helps Toyotarō put the manga together
 
Honestly I'd more see the anime and manga being different continuities, each being valid in of themselves.
 
Both the anime and the manga deviate from Toriyama's original outlines, but the manga is an adaptation of the anime. That's why we use the anime primarily.

it's a separate medium where events are constantly changed depending on Toya boy, he has the freedom to do what he wants in those confined plot outlines, if he incorporates stuff from the anime it is from his own choice not because his adapting the anime.

in fact, the manga has it's own set of advertisements that distinguish it from the anime

Well Goku surpassed every master he trained under this is fact. DBS did Goku a little tho by making Beerus infinity stronger than him for plot reasons and he only surpassed him just recently

For all we know the gap between Whiss and Beerus is bigger than the gap between BoG Goku and Beerus

No way he will surpass Whiss by next movie
 
Eh, Vegito Blue never was Toriyama idea in the first place, Toei placed him in the anime for marketing and Toyo followed... So I dunno...

It was Toyo idea actually not Toei, Vegito was literally fan-service and they recton the Potara fusion just so they can show him for 10 min~

Most people were MEH with his appearance, they should have used Gogeta and they won't need to recton anything + it will make Gogeta canon and please the fan because that what they want anyway

Personally I would've rather had Gogeta

It would've been a mortal fusion technique vs a godly fusion technique, keeping up with the theme of the arc, and you could've made Spirit Bomb Super Saiyan a bit more plausible with Gogeta possibly lending his Soul Punisher to Trunks for him to finish the fight.
