might as well start some Mob Psycho 8-C matches.

World Domination Arc Onwards Teru, Vol 1-3 Weiss. Speed is equalized, and the battle takes place in the location Weiss fought the Arma Giygas in the white trailer, 20m apart.

Weiss is 1.42 Tons with 2 Ton dust attacks, Teru scales to someone undamaged by a .8 Ton Explosion.

Weiss Schnee - 1 (Weekly)

Teruki Hanazawa - 7 (Ciruno, Maverick, Xtas, Animation, Iapitus, Jimbo, WHY)

Teruki has the advantage in terms of variety and even if Weiss could get him into stasis his barriers would ensure safety. Teruki also has precog which is a helpful ability and can be helpful in warning him against Weiss using the attraction ability she has. Gravity was it? It's a bit problematic if he manages to copy it too but I think that's less likely.

Was actually gonna vote for Weiss initially...

Leaning on Teruki for now and bumping this.

Also it's beautiful to see numeric values beside AP values for each contender. Makes it so much easier to track and compare

Weiss's semblance is her Glyphs, although Teruki copying it is certainly reasonable.

Teru - 1 (Ciruno)

Uh...looking through his profile his Precog wouldnt let him know any of her actual abilities, it only lets him read her physical movements, so it wouldnt help him avoid her gravity glyphs

Weiss also has forcefields of her own as well as ice walls and shells to further protect herself, just as a heads up

Yeah looking through this im going to have to say Weiss takes this with a significant amount of difficulty. Her range advantage and spammable attacks, the majority of which freeze the opponent on contact, will help a lot here. And as i mentioned before, his precog doesnt tell him his opponent's abilities, it only lets him read their body language to predict their physical movement, so given that he has no prior knowledge of her abilities nothing will really save him from being caught in a gravity trap or from hitting gravity glyphs that continually keep him off balance throughout the fight.

Both of them have barriers to protect themselves from each others' attacks, so Teruki having a forcefield isnt much of an advantage.

Her speed amping will help a lot as well.

Air Whips and TK wont help him here as she has both the AP and the Lifting Strength to break out of them.

Ethereal Bodies will be annoying at best but not overall a major issue as Weiss has spent the majority of her life training to fight against multiple enemies simultaneously. Doesnt help that theyre weaker than Teruki either when he already has an AP/Dura disadvantage.

The only major problem that Weiss would probably have is the TK Explosion ability coupled with precog but other than that she should take this, again with significant difficulty.

Should probably be noted on his profile then

Still its good that Weiss uses very few actual projectiles and that she has ones that are homing attacks and ones that are manually guided

Can't stay for long but a big issue for Weiss is that since Teruki has TK and he has no mercy using TK on an opponent from afar and smacking/ragdolling them around this would be an issue. He focuses more on dodging most attacks unless something is unbockable so Weiss is gonna be hard pressed to target him.

Spammable attacks are about the same for both sides except one of them can consistently beat down the other without worrying about missing. It's a very solid advantage on TK users. Teruki would likely try to disarm Weiss too and if he realizes how she uses her Gylphs he's gonna try to mess with her movement or stay clear from her linear sight/in front of her

Ethereal bodies is more likely to be used as decoys to distract Weiss and do a fakeout "Nothing personal kid" as Teruki gets behind her

Freezing isn't a major issue since Teruki will be constantly on the move and on the first place would be defending himself from any ranged attack with barriers. Also TK Fire. Kinda counters that. I'm trying to recall the times Weiss has successfully frozen someone but I only remember the times she encased something in ice.

Couple this with Precog preventing Weiss from getting much hits in despite her AOE effects it'll be likelier that Teruki whittle her down.

Wondering though if aura could be absorbed the same way TK energy can be absorbed. It's a possible chance considering how it operates and if it works, it makes Weiss' defense a bit more difficult.

But yeah TK ragdoll is gonna mess up Weiss a lot.

I'd personally count Aura and Semblance as two of the things Teru could mimic during the match as they're abilities based on the person's soul, and spiritual energy falls under the really wide umbrella of what is considered "psychic powers" in Mob Psycho.

Teru - 2 (Ciruno, Xtas)

Weiss - 1 (Weekly)

Yuuup. If only Teruki learnt Teleportation against Mob near the end...

Also, we gotta update and give a key of endgame Teruki. Should be a safe city block level.

@Ciruno Ive already explained why TK is a non-factor in this fight, she has both the AP and the Lifting Strength to be able to break out of it with little difficulty. Dodging will be nigh impossible to a homing attack.

Her glyphs dont rely on her sword, she is entirely capable of making them with just her hands.

It's not going to be effective if Teruki just stands there and pins her down, but Teruki has a tendency to toss around people when that happens. Even then Teruki can just keep enforcing it. Also wasn't being TKed into midair only counterable by opposing TK?

Homing attack? Does Weiss even have any? All he has to do is direct them away from him and back to her if necessary.

I wasn't saying that. I was just saying disarming her sword is useful.

To be fair, Weiss could probably use glyphs to cushion impacts and redirect her gravity if Teru attempts to ragdoll.

Teruki's TK is nowhere near strong enough to pin her down, she's Class K to his Class 25, and like dargoo said if he tries to ragdoll her she can easily regain equilibrium via glyphs

Yes, she does, its even listed right in her profile. If he tries to redirect them they'd just redirect back at him as they continue to track even if they somehow miss

I just can't imagine one being able to use proper lifting strength while midair.

That may be true but that's not a 100% negate damage.

Cause I'm wondering when she ever used a homing attack and said profile should have a link to that feat of homing attack. That said even if I accept that, it's still shut down by redirection via TK.

Barrage: Weiss can create a storm of ice crystals that can home in on enemies, as well as up to 9 beams of energy or a single, powerful blast which damages and freezes all enemies it touches.

This has been on her profile for two years

Teru just TKs the ice or traps them in forcefields.

Worst comes to worst they just impact his personal forcefield.

Multiple layers. But less worry about that when one is dodging and precoging.

Precog is a good indication of what's gonna happen and if he realizes that, it's gonna be from one direction not all directions so he can just back off and focus on dodging while hitting Teruki with TK chokehold/ragdolls.

Dodging a homing attack is kinda like saying a character can tank something that oneshot them, its not exactly possible, even if he tries to redirect them they will correct themselves and keep coming.

And once again TK isnt going to help here

Redirecting them so that they collide with something else would suffice.

TK helps. It doesn't let Teru win the match because Weiss has Glyphs and various ways of controlling her own movement, but he can use it tactically. Tripping her up at the right time, disarming her (which actually does affect her glyphs as it removes their dust-enhacned variations), etc.

IDK if Weiss would oneshot even with dust attacks. Teru at his peak fights evenly with someone who takes .8 Tons with no damage whatsoever.

Overall on this I'm pretty neutral though; Weiss matches Teru in versatility and likely beats him in skill and ranged play, but Teru has some good counters and has a very adaptive and under-handed battle style that makes a proper fight hard to gauge.

Her Dust attacks are High 8-C so if they dont oneshot they come very close to it

Also im gonna put gifs of Weiss' attacks on her pforile

@Weekly 1

My point was he dodges the non-homing attacks like glyphs... and redirects the homing attacks... Except he can also redirect them to the ground or against each other as Dargoo points out.

Once again I don't see any reasoning as to how Weiss could shake off being carried in the air. Heck Teruki doesn't have to keep a constant hold. Just a constant motions in the air where Weiss is not heading towards. It's gonna keep her disbalanced all the time/

@Dargoo

I agree heavily. But the skill and ranged play is definitely not on her side due to TK redirecting.

@Weekly 2

That's if they reach him in the first place. That's the main advantage here. Heck some of her ice attacks can be slowed down or even redirected back. Though imo different tier matches should be considered on fairness.

Thank you!! I mean this sincerely btw.

Except there isnt anything for him to dodge, theyre not projectiles they just appear and the second they appear he's affected by them, be it a wall he crashes into, an anti-gravity field that holds him in place and prevents him from moving, or an instant ball of ice spikes. If he redirects them into something she can just make more, although the homing attacks do go through physical objects so redirecting them likely wont help.

Lifting strength and AP are what is required to break out of TK. You dont need TK to break out of TK.

You were talking about homing attacks. You are also dismissing the precog ability. So what's stopping him from using his TK to push himself away? Teruki's decoys are also gonna be a pain and can be great distractions.

Aura is not finite.

I'd like to see proof of that actually happening and not from just some game feat taken out of context.

Already questionable source on the AP. But let's play that way. Even if you have that, you still have the issue of Teruki ragdolling her around. Oh she breaks free? Grab her again in that stance. Heck make her body stance as awkward as possible. Or tug at literally one point of her leg. You can't exactly break free from a lasso on a leg by pure force unless you reach for it.

Homing attacks, by definition, cannot be dodged. I still have yet to see him using precog to do anything other than predict the physical movement of his opponents. Its not true precognition. His decoys are kinda fodder tbh, theyre not going to be a pain at all as Weiss can basically oneshot them. Also i completely forgot that Weiss has glyphs that are specifically used to restrain the opponent, which are also homing.

Aura is actually finite...

Tier 3 - Frost Bolt/Ranged Mastery: "Weiss shoots an icicle that freezes enemies in its path." Costs 2 to upgrade. To unlock defeat 200 enemies with ranged attacks as Weiss. Freezes, deals 75 damage to all enemies in the line, and travels really slowly. Phases through the environment, including boxes.

Weiss is quite literally 18x stronger than his TK, he is not strong enough to do anything to her with his TK

That's why heat seeking missiles can't be dodged and forced to hit itself right? And https://imgur.com/a/8bkCU5s is on is profile. I'm confused as to why using precog to predict an attacker will not work on someone who uses elements. There's no difference to it. Homing glyphs- yeah that about makes as much sense as her losing to Vernal.

Meant finite. Meant not infinite. My b.

Travels very slowly, gotcha and predictable. Gotcha. I'm pretty sure phasing is just because it's passing through solid objects and dodging that is pretty simple for anyone who can move out of the path of a single wave attack. Not to mention reading and tracking that, nothing really makes this as some sort of intangible attack. Otherwise Weiss' fights would've gone a lot more smoothly. Not convinced ESPECIALLY with using game feats.

Are we... using different versions here? Cause I'm pretty sure Tier 8 is the one being used.

@Ciruno Heat Seeking missiles are not the same thing as homing missiles nor do either of them have as good a tracking as fictional homing attacks. Oh you thought i was kidding about them being homing glyphs, because i wasnt.

Mhmm, speed equalized cancels out the 'traveling slowly' bit. The game is 100% canon as stated by the creators of the series themselves, you really dont have a choice as to whether or not you decide to acknowledge it as canon.

Nope, her 8-C form is physically 18 times stronger than his TK. He is Class 25 with TK, she is Class K physically, he is nowhere near strong enough to be able to do anything meaningful to her with TK.

Basically the only thing Teru can even do here is spam his movement prediction and make explosions which in and of itself is not foolproof, nothing else in his arsenal will help him. Still sticking with Weiss.

@Weekly 1

Firstly, the first glyph use is not homing. Second, it's a barrage. Does that mean they would be unredirectable? I find that silly considering there's no proof of them being redirected and them curving back to the enemy target. The best you have is that they curve in how they move. A bit of an issue if they're halted in midair.

Mmmmm. I'd have to disagree with this. Gameplay feats are never 100% integrated into the game because there's such thing as story and game segregation. Also the existence of this ability makes Weiss into a dumbass if she never uses this against enemies. Only uses in game but never in fights against Grimm? Very problematic. She's hyper-competent in the games that she'd probably be able to take on Team RWBY if you pit the game version against the series version.

Tell me again. How do you apply lifting strength when you're being tossed around in midair? Heck Weiss at that point might've already been freed when she was tossed.

@2

Undermining the opposing side. Hilarious.

@3

Alright that's fair on voting.
