Given that both are the first of their respective franchises, it would be a fun F&G matchup. AP/Dura is equalized and Rhydon has the physiology of a Digimon.

Huh...this is kinda tough. Tyrannomon has the stat advantage with Acceleration Boost buffing his next attack, but in terms of moves Rhydon has more versatility along with better AoE with moves like Earthquake and stat moves like Scary Face. The result here probably comes down to their general mentality while fighting. Tyrannomon has never been incredibly intelligent so he's likely to fight more-or-less like an animal, breathing fire and slashing everything apart with his claws. He has the range disadvantage as well, since Tyranno only has access to one ranged move and the rest he has are melee. I think Rhydon is slightly higher in terms of speed but...

Tyrannomon can double the power of his next attack with Acceleration Boost so he could take the win with higher damage, but if Rhydon keeps him at range that becomes much more difficult. Then again Rhydon would be forced to resort to moves like Earthquake as his ranged options aren't great either...

Yeah, I'm still not certain. If someone knows how the two usually fight without partners that'd help a lot.

Does the digicore in the body mean that the pokemon would have to break through the digimon's body in order to use mind manip on it?

Frankly, I'm unsure about (but not necessarily against) the mind-soul-with-every-attack thing. But I'm unsure about the mechanics.

As this is becoming inactive, I´ll take the chance to make the Rhyperior Vs. Tyrannomon match.
