How skilled is my opponent?
Giovanni is shown to be quite skilled in wielding a baseball bat. Giovanni claims that when it comes to baseball, he cannot be beaten, and he has multiple trophies in his room to prove it.
Jericho has the skill advantage, but that's a given

Epithets are special powers emitted from a single word tethered to a person's soul. Inscribed can use their epithet for a variety of different things, depending on how they perceive their word and how high their creativity is. Giovanni's epithet is Soup, it allows him to create and control soup, which ends up having a wide variety of applications due to his high creativity

Soup can be used to create soups of Giovanni's own design and seasoning, having combat application by creating a hot ball of tomato soup to use as a pseudo-fireball. This ball of soup is also described as scalding by Giovanni.

Soup can also be used to build up steam around him, using this for a sudden burst of speed to the point where it looks like teleportation to observers. This can also be used to give himself a large jump. He seems to only be able to do it in short bursts, though.

Soup can be used to materialize soup out of Giovanni's sweat. He can make a healing soup named "Ancient Potion" with his epithet, which he claims is a once per battle ability. (It heals 15HP)

And lastly, Soup can be used to blanket the area in a fog of pea soup, which he can use to make quick getaways or dispel things like Sylvie's dust.

Jericho: Uses a baseball bat and fireballs

Giovanni: Also uses a baseball bat and fireballs

This is legit the perfect matchup.

Jericho should take the skill advantage here.

Giovanni is a Bonzai Captain, and while that means he is above a typical Banzai footsoldier, he still had a lot of difficulty in... basically every single fight he was ever in, now that I think about it.

What Giovanni does have though, are SOUPHAX. He can create healing fog that also blocks the vision of an opponent, create what are basically fireballs with Lava Grenade and Soup That Is Too Hot, can heal himself with Magic Potion, and can teleport.

What is Giovanni's personality would like like to use these weapons and try to pick them up first or he'll simply use his own bat.

He can create healing fog that also blocks the vision of an opponent
I think Jericho's Instinctive Reactions have this covered.

create what are basically fireballs with Lava Grenade and Soup That Is Too Hot
Jericho can use fireballs as well, burning the opponent's face, which was able to take wrestlers out of action for weeks, so if Jericho hits this, it's GG for Gio.

can heal himself with Magic Potion, and can teleport.
These will be an issue for Jericho ngl (though Jericho has fought and defeated Kenny Omega, who has teleportation as well, so maybe it won't be that big of an issue).

Jericho would be more than willing to use a baseball bat with barbed wire wrapped around it, as it's an upgrade from the basic bats he uses.

I haven’t read through the stuff here yet but the soup fireballs have 10B AP, just don’t forget that, his baseball bat is his only 9-C source of non-restricted weaponry I believe

His Lava Grenade (Which is basically the hot soup but with bigger AoE) is 9-C tho

Well in terms of teleportation, Giovanni will be punished hard if he tries to teleport behind Jericho or the likes, as instinctive reactions will mean Jericho will be able to reply with his own attack

Both’s fireballs seem like moves that could just burn their opponent into submission, though Jericho’s pain tolerance means he would fair slightly better

Professional Wrestling finishers tends to do more damage as they are "One hit finishers"
This is AEW key of Jericho Judas Effect is listed as an MMA Move so Jericho would need an opening to execute it to permanently knock him out.
In this get's into close quarter combat then well he can use Poison Mist to catch Giovanni by surprise,
Jericho being a veteran may allow Giovanni to hit him because Jericho is a trickster once Giovanni gets close to delivering the final blow he can do Poison Mist + Judas Effect for TKO.

Jericho's finishers case is solid it's all about how Giovanni counterplays it.

But if Giovanni's Healing is that good and he is capable to withstanding MMA knockout moves then then he could heal fast enough to avoid and work on plan B (Whatever that may be, either a different strategy or utilizing other weapons)

Giovanni has a good deal of mobility with the help of using steam to enhance his movement, but I don't think he has ever actually dodged anything lel
Oof... would he in theory be able to dodge some of Jericho’s attacks, or is it just a matter of whether Jericho can ragdoll him quick enough lol

20:34 he likes to play dirty, he's evil he's cunning, he seems to use some kind of social influencing to trick people or at the very least try to convince them.

Jericho has a very big mouth and likes to get into the head of his opponent too bringing people personal life or wives into the topic to heat things up.

Wow these two are kinda made for each other
