The Third Realm
In the Third Realm, centuries have passed since wars decimated the entire world. Mutants, and other abominations plagued the survivors of these wars, and eventually, almost everyone was dead. Through gene resequencing, despite the fact that only around one thousand survivors made it past the one century mark after the Greatest War, Mankind could avoid genetic defects from having their population decimated. This gene resequencing has now led towards a society full of high science and technology. However, magical spells, wizards, and creatures also exist alongside high technology of the current day.
Something about The Third Realm is special. Hence the invasions of the current day. It's been a millenia since the world was shattered by the Greatest Of Wars, and now, a greater war may well have been waged by the forces of Darkness.
Enter the city of Kadum. The city of monsters. In Kadum, these creatures are former menaces of Mankind and the other races of Third Realm that are working to either redeem themselves in the eyes of the world, or at least live in harmony. This is where our protagonists are summoned by The Great Gate Keeper.
