The Revenant Marvel Comics Discussion Thread

Another thing, Odin claims Mangog doesn't hit as hard as he remembers. But he also says he barely felt his punch when he's bleeding and stuttering, so I'm guessing Odin's just being arrogant...?

I hate Jason Aaron's portrayal of Odin
To be fair, Odin mainly completely derailed from the wise, brave, self-sacrificing, and benevolent protector that Tom DeFalco and Dan Jurgens portrayed him as during Matt Fraction's Thor run, where he was suddenly a fearful and arrogant genocidal warmonger instead. Jason Aaron cemented that 180 degree turnaround in stone though, and has done enormous damage to Thor and Marvel Comics as a whole.

Btw: The Odinforce used to be shown as powerful enough to literally offhandedly wish The Mangog out of existing during Dan Jurgens' Thor run.

Anyway, I am not sure how to scale the unworthy version of Thor.

It seems like an outlier, and also not be consistent with Aaron's general unworthy Thor portrayals.

So, the newest issue of "Defenders: Beyond" has been released. What do you all think about the revelations in it?

Among other things, The Never Queen turned out to be the Fourth Multiverse, the one filled with archetypes without coherent narrative.

Never Queen was a one off thing like the griver so her being 4th Multiverse just seems like expanding her lore

What is reasoning for Mokk being comparable to Thor?

Eternity's reborn as the eighth multiverse after the Ultimate Ultimate leaving right?

As far as I know, after MM rebuilt him. during step up ot of the 8th multiverse, he was imprisoned by the first firmament, causing his step up the 8th multiverse to halt.

Do we have a good idea of how powerful Meridius is? I mention it because in the new Thor issue, Thor uses the Odinforce to beat him down pretty badly as soon as he gets serious
