The Commoner's Thread: The Death of SCP

My interest is in still having it on the wiki, and that removing it sets a dangerous precedent for the future with, again, just how much the public's perception of powerscaling has shifted. I can also speak from experience when I say that this change is validating some of the most annoying people in the versus community.

For versus debating, this deletion will basically mean the end of any sort of collaborative or fan content being taken seriously in versus, no matter where we put the pages. Doomsday vs 682 appearing on the Death Battle Cast recently is the only reason this isn't causing even MORE damage.

All the archival does is help keep accurate information available to people. All it does is keep the corpse in a pretty little refrigerated casket like Walt Disney. The profiles won't get updated, and if they do it won't be under even a quarter of the scrutiny.

A beautiful, wonderful series with countless amazing ideas and concepts will only ever be known in scaling communities as "The series made to win debates" or "The series so overpowered it got removed from VSBW", all because we deleted it due to less than 0.1% of it's content. A series who's only crime is having less than a dozen spiteful as hell writers.

Removing SCP from this wiki won't save SCP's reputation, it'll just further enforce it as the Suggsverse-tier powerscaling brainrot it never was.
I don't think any of this is really all that far-fetched.

Also, since SCP and probably RPC are gonna be nuked, what's gonna happen to The Holders?

I also considered unlocking, but I'd decided to do a separate thread since there may be different votes given RPC hasn't reached the point of SCP.

It's the same exact thing on principle and allowing it in the future, I feel, will at least likely lead to the same point. I see the two as being identical situations and thus wish for RPC to be removed as well. Still, everyone should explicitly state their vote one way or the other, on that one.
It should be noted RPC sticks to a single primary canon, and does not seem to have a gamifying awareness of the tier system.

Yeah, my knowledge on RPC is more limited but I've never heard of anything like the SCP situation happening here. Still, it is just as open to the same stuff. If we're codifying into rule something against this situation to begin with, RPC and similar verses would probably be toasted along with it.

RPC is niche as all hell, and the holders is in a constant state of the website dying. If the main reason of SCP deletion, was the fact that "muh PL" mentality entered so deeply into the website, that it has become a part of it, then it shouldn't affect RPC and the holders (the former only peaks at 4-B, because of a haxless dude, the later is....****...8-C at maximum?)

Yeah, Madness Combat seems the current likely choice. Specifically the protagonist, Hank Wimbleton.

Should I make a new Commoner's Thread to the new SCP Mass Exodus thread or do you guys want to just use this one.

I don't think another thread is necessary also the subject is almost concluded anyway

Looks like staff are planning to set up an entirely new wiki as new home for SCP and various other media that's kind of in between official media and fanfiction.

the wiki they are trying to send SCP to, has shrek as 2-C

I'd suggest for all SCP supporters to start backing up profiles. Maybe CSAP will accept them.
Hello. I'm the guy who created CSaP in 2017. Sorry for being terribly late to this particular post. You probably no longer hold on to these plans, but I figure I can offer some clarifications either way.

I appreciate your interest in moving your profiles to our site. I can also confirm that we will continue to welcome SCP profiles (along with similar verses, such as Creepypasta, the Backrooms, the Slenderverse et al.) just as we always have.

However, please be aware that CSaP's tiering system has started diverging considerably from VSBW's a while ago; subsequently, it's not as simple as copy-pasting SCP profiles into a CSaP page and being done with it. Changes may need to be made to statistics and whatnot.

Furthermore, the way CSaP pages are set up is that everyone is entitled to their own profile for a certain character; your profiles have your username tied to them. If VSBW's SCP profiles would be moved over to CSaP (however modified), you'll probably prefer to have all of them attached to a single user.

Either way, the VSBW staff seem to be experimenting with creating a separate wiki for so-called "rejects" (including SCP) that don't really fit on either VSBW, FC/OC VSBW, or JBW. This wiki, if it ends up being used, might well be a better home for SCP profiles. Only time can tell if this idea will be followed up on though.

Again, I'm probably super late with all of this, but hey, better late than never. Thanks for your attention and I hope you will all have a good day.
