The Boys Season 4 Discussion Thread

Nope. Kimiko and Noir aren't bulletproof yet they scale fine from Bulletproof Annie and Stormfront.
Also, Naqib was bulletproof and got one-shot by Noir.
Wait old Noir wasn’t bulletproof? I don’t remember an instance of him even interacting with bullets, but if he isn’t bulletproof then yeah that completely throws that idea in the bucket. Also yeah now that you mention it, the gap between Kimiko and the bulletproof supes would probs be much higher if we based their strength off that.

On the topic of supes and bullets though: instead of giving bulletproof supes a “Bulletproof Durability” ability, wouldn’t it make more sense to just slap guns into the non-bulletproof supes’ weaknesses section? The 9-A to 8-A characters should be bulletproof by default just based on how powerful guns are, so if one is susceptible to bullets then that seems more like a downside for them than an upside for the bulletproof supes.

1. I think is easier to see in the P&A section
2. Not really. Fiction almost all time has powerful characters be affected/threatened by bullets. Idk, random example, Deku from MHA is like 8-A+ at his weakest and he still dodges bullets. Heck, Captain America is like 8-C and is vulnerable to bullets.
I (personally) think that assuming a character is bulletproof based on their strength/durability is flawed unless the character is shown/implied to be.
ya bro’s not bulletproof

(2:30)

And yet when they see Noir II be bulletproof they still think is the same Noir lol

How did I forget this moment lol

Although isn’t this just his suit not being bulletproof? He doesn’t even react to the bullets hitting him and just keeps walking forward to Hughie.

I can see the reasoning, but I still feel like it’s more reasonable to just add a weakness to bullets to a profile when needed. Because tbh the only alternative I can think of is to assume bullets have some form of durability negation unless the character is confirmed bulletproof, which can lead to some pretty wacky shenanigans.

Hughie shot through his hand
bullet goes through his hand. Nori just has a high pain tolerance
Ah I didn’t see the smoke from the other side at first since it was so dark, my bad lol

Should Noir maybe get Low regen then? His hand later seems to be fine from what I remember, and presumably the bullets would’ve dug a bit into his chest as well.

Should add to Homelander's enhanced senses that he could tell Hughie's scent from a drop of his sweat.

And could tell that Maeve slept with Butcher even days after LOL

I mean, in both cases it's a little of a redundant clarification, but we can do both (also I like the listing I did LOL)

Another bullet-based post lol, but we’re sure the bullets from the secret service agent only targeted the tumour? I’ve seen a few people treat it as Billy also being targeted, with one person even saying his coat has bullet holes (which personally I don’t see at all).

(1:03, might be worth looking at later shots of him too to make sure there’s no bullet holes)

Will check it in slowmo, and see what I can find, but I think the implication was that the tentacles got shot

Just binged all of Gen V. All in all it was pretty good, better than the current season of the boys in my opinion, but not without it's faults. The scaling is kinda all over the place though, how the hell did Neuman cut her hand with a normal knife yet can survive bullets no problem and is considered unkillable by the Boys? And Jackie surviving being lasered by Homelander of all people yet regularly knifing her hands? Disregarding that it did give us a few good feats like Golden Boy vaporizing a person, Andre catching a falling helicopter, a random supe gibbing a human with her lightning powers, and Sam creating large craters by jumping. Has any of that been calculated?

1. Marie, not Jackie lol, and it's not like HL went all out
2. Luke reduced Brink to ashes, not Vaporization (and it's on the common feats page, 0.056-0.060 Tons of TN)
3. The rest of the feats you mentioned are like 9-B at best, so no much to calc tbh
4. Vicky cutting her hand is likely PIS. That or it's meant to show she strong enough to cut herself? Still dumb considering she used a regular knife.
For Marie it's not that back since they haven't showed her as bulletproof like Neuman.

He likely didn't go all out but it was still considered an incredible blast to survive by other bulletproof supes so it was likely lethal.

Ok I was unaware but that should still be a calculation viewable on the page in my opinion.

Really? Even the crater Sam made by jumping? It was like three Andre's wide and half an Andre tall just by eyeballing it, plus it could possibly increase lifting strength since it was a jump that caused that damage. Even if none of them are upgrades couldn't it be used as support for higher ratings?

Yeah, that's what I thought too.

Yeah, but then that just means that Marie is really tough, but that's it. Not like tougher than Male Jordan anyways.
Ok I was unaware but that should still be a calculation viewable on the page in my opinion.
Is on my sandbox, and will be in the page once I add the Gen V cast. (Still working on the scaling since upscales from Kimiko and The Boys maybe get some upgrades, maybe)

Maybe it could help with lifting strength, though I gotta learn how to get lifting from craters... But yeah, AP wise it's not that great but mainly because it's soil. But could be used as support, as you said.
Yeah, that's what I thought too.
Also I guess Neuman has Marie's regeneration too? Neither has scars or anything on their hands.

Yeah but this was coming from Andre who specifically states "Anyone else would be in the ground" which to me implies Marie may be a stonewall. Her being the same type of supe as Neuman kinda backs this up as well so I believe she should scale to possibly 9-A if that's what tier Sam and them end up being.

Ok nice! Fingers crossed for 9-A Boys main cast.

I actually know how to get lifting strength from craters or destruction, it's the only thing I know how to do besides simple speed calculations. If you could calculate it I could get the lifting strength. Also dang, I didn't think it being dirt would affect the calculation that much.

The cut there hands and are fine scenes later, so it seems like it. Or it may be a case of them using there blood manipulation to heal at an accelerated rate as Neuman seemed to do when showing her powers to Marie.

She was already gonna scale to them. And I don't think the implication was that she is more durable than Andre, but y'know, it wouldn't amount to much right now anyways.

"9-A, possibly 8-C"

Yeah, cratering soil isn't the same as rock

Marie can heal with her powers (she saved a woman), but I mean, if she can heal herself, that's Regeneration lol

I totally see it happening.

They aren't making A Train getting killed too easily almost all fights hes been in he clapped hes gonna at least annoy Homelander with sheer speed if it gets to happen

Actually on the topic of A-Train, aren’t there some statements like him outrunning bullets as a child or him being able to run up to 1,000 miles an hour? Of course A-Train in Seasons 1-3 can’t reach those speeds, but if his speed is affected by his health then could post-transplant A-Train potentially be that fast?

The 1000 mph was rejected on a thread because A-Train's enlisted record was below that, and even with Compound V he was slower. About the bullet, we don't know the type of bullet and how he "outrun it".
And Post Transplant is kinda featless

I can't remember who said it, but does anyone remember when did Homelander threatened to rip Hughie's spine? I found a similar statement from Neuman, but it's to support a LS upgrade.

I'm pretty sure ripping a spine out isn't Class K anymore. If you want a LS upgrade just put the Maeve truck stopping feat into a blog or update your previous calculation.

Did anyone calculate A-train running to Vaught tower after fighting The Deep and Black Noir 2?
No timeframe. We only know he went as fast possible, that's it.

I think it was you who made the bus calc, if you have the comment, link it please.
Also, even if isn't Class K, is still worthy

That's unfortunate.

Copied from the other thread "Since no-one followed up on this I decided to do it myself, I thought I would have to look up tons information about the truck and other stuff but luckily we have an accepted calculation that we already use. Found KE - 1,360,942.83 Joules. Displacement - 3 meters (A similar but likely smaller truck, the ford transit, has a length of 5.6 meters, seeing as Maeve only made it to around the center part of the back chassis I think an assumption of 3 meters should be fine). Work = Force/Displacement - 1,360,942.83/3 = 453647.61 Newtons. Converted to metric tons that equals about 46 Tons, a decent upgrade from her current value."

Y’know it’s kinda funny how as far as the characters themselves are concerned, almost every AP/SS/Dura rating is getting bumped up a tier. The 9-Cs are becoming 9-Bs, the 9-Bs are becoming 9-As, the 9-As are becoming 8-Cs and the 8-Bs are becoming 8-As. The only ones not affected are the 10-Bs.

Yeah lol
Though technically the 9-A would be a slight downgrade, since currently the 9-A scaling is 0.057 tons of TNT from Groundhawk and using the deleted scene statement. However, and assuming that stays, that would be used for the 0.428 tons (Building level) scaling.
So, our (currently) best 9-A feat is 0.028 tons (my RPG calc)

yo,don't know if this counts as a spoiler, but
from what i've saw in a news site, apparently, season 5 will have an homelander at the peak of his power(7-C homelander real?????)
