So basically, I hate LC Vullaby.


Story: A few hours before Dio and Jonathan's fight, a meteor strikes the top of the castle of Windnight's Lot. As Dio's minions discover the meteorite, a little pink thing jumps out of the rock. Unable to capture the creature because it just keeps on using Minimize and runs away, Dio decides to just hypnotize the thing and send it to confront Johnathan.

What does Clefairy lead with ?

Hard to say because it's a pokemon, but probably something along the lines of Charm, which would greatly reduce AP, Sing, which would knock Johnathan to sleep, Sweet Kiss which confuses or Magical Leaf which never misses.

I'm sure there's more but that's the gist

What does Clefairy lead with ?

Technically, this is Cleffa, not Clefairy; Cleffa is 8-C. Clefairy is 8-A, so Clefairy would stomp.

Charm would make brute force difficult since it'd reduce Jonathan's physical offensive power, Encore would lock Jonathan into one "move"... so, one action, & Sing could put him to sleep.

Sweet Kiss would leave Jonathan confused. In games, the chance to hurt one's self while confused is 50% before Gen 7, & 33% in Gen 7, with Confusion doing nothing if the victim doesn't hurt itself.

And Copycat when used, would cause Cleffa to copy Jonathan's technique. Wonder how he'd handle a Hamon Overdrive attack being used on him....

Magical Leaf is a homing attack that often is depicted as having multiple projectile leaves, & Pound is a basic physical attack.

I'm not sure what Jon & his Hamon can do to win here, & that's not getting into Cleffa's Egg Moves, supposing we allow them.

(Also, the opening post runs on a flawed premise. I mean, ignoring that this Cleffa has been hypnotized by Dio, which goes against Standard Battle Assumption's condition of:

Outside Influence: None. No characters of either verse, aside from those participating in the battle, may influence the outcome of the battle in any way. That means they may not join the fight, grant buffs, create shields, provide information etc. Exceptions are things like blessings, calling upon some higher entities power for a spell, summoning familiars to battle for them, having another character as equipment or more generally spoken the things which are listed on the profile as part of a characters own powers and abilities.

....But yeah. Aside from the OP kinda going against that, Cleffa can't learn Minimize, so the situation to start this battle in the OP doesn't really work, unless this is quite the non-standard Cleffa.)
