First match in my tourney, let's see how it goes.

Statesman has been DQ'd from the tourney, rematch using backup is up here, this thread will stay up in case anyone wants to finish it.

Statesman's AP will be interpreted as 7-C (10-20 kilotons).

Master Yi is in his PROJECT key, where his 7-C AP is baseline (5.8 kilotons).

Speed will be equalised. Other than that, the battle assumptions will be standard; starting range will be somewhere in the Tens of Meters range since neither of their profiles give an exact number.

Statesman: 1 (@DaReaperMan)

Master Yi: 1 (@ShionAH)

Inconclusive: 0

@DaReaperMan @ShionAH

Now why did ya have to do Yi like this, he doesn't deserve this kinda beatdown!

Anyways uh... yeah Statesman skillfucks to hell and back. A peek at his skill section in intelligence should be enough to say that, and if push comes to shove... I don't think Yi can handle the big **** off one-shot AoE lightning. Sure Statesman has to be pushed to use that, but it's still there and can be used whenever he damn well pleases!

Yeah no Yi skill ***** actually I think. I will make my research and post tomorrow

Lol profiles are so bad to all the way where we used in game scaling so bare with me on some of my claims I will have scans

For the skill, the guy has slain an army with the help 12 people? Yi genuinly does that shit alone while basically not moving, thats the gap we are talking about btw

Well atleast I think, I need to research it again to make sure I am right.

I don't think Yi can keep up with the hell that is CoH skillwank. Seriously, I got some bullshit for you
"literally delete his PnA including resistances except for Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Some acrobatics, but nothing like being able to jump more than a couple meters off the ground and do a flip... and martial arts. Now force him to raid a military base with mech suits, more guns than the U.S army, and more missiles than the U.S air force. On his own. AND he's not allowed to be tagged by any of this a single time. AND it's all comparable in speed.

Could get worse than that too, could use Arachnos which has attack helicopters, all of the above, and psionic attacks like mind control. Which spawn on the target. Or Telekinesis, which spawns on the target, or shockwaves, which spawn on the target. Like a good 20% of all powers in CoH just spawn on the damn target or affect them without travel time, and this MFer must dodge it all.

That is ONLY TWO ENEMY FACTIONS. OUT OF LIKE 15."

And that's without the more bullshit "Dodge Time Stop" BS you can pull

Would be bad, if Yi wasnt casually shifting realms and seeing beyond dimensions through sheer fricking skill. Wuju is just the embodiment of bs combat skills. Anyways I gotta sleep so yeah I will make the claims tomorrow

What happened to skill fights man. It was simple "this guy is a master martial artist and can predict via muscle movement" vs "this guy is a master swordsman and can predict via killing intent and gaze". Wtf is seeing beyond dimensions and shifting realms via skill or dodging attacks that literally spawn on you or are undodgeable 😭

You see neither of those are like... quantifiable. That's why I don't really bring up time stop or shit like that.

Anything Yi throws out, Statesman can dodge and tag him back.

Has Yi ever dodged just being removed from the timeline for a bit?

Welcome to City of ************* Heroes. We have bullshit skillwank here.

Might be a bit of derailment, Idk much about the tourney, but upon reading it, how do both of these guys even have a small chance of losing against Kokken Sabi? If the stuff they can do via """""skill""""" is dodging undodgable attacks or shifting through realms, how do they have a small chance of losing? I feel like a 5% chance of losing is very generous, and it seems more likely that they slip and fall unconscious and lose rather than an actual fight.

Other than that, I don't have anything to input on this thread.

Nor is that qunatifiable. Nor is dodging undodgeable (which is also a feat that cannot be used according to the wiki) Can’t eat the cake entirely bro, Yi also has stomped Wukong who has similar feats but Wukong was using his hair to create perfect replicas of himself. Due to teaching Wukong basically eventually fights against a equally skilled more verstaile army of himself and can still win.

Btw Yi genuinly and casually walks through higher spirit dimensions through sheer patience, skill and wuju bs lol

Yi does get masively outranged

Outranging doesn't matter if you can shift out, walk up to her, and shift back in. Or even if you can just shift out for half a second every time an attack comes your way.

For "they get outranged" to be a viable losecon, they would still have to sometimes end up in a situation where they'd fail to dodge a mix of precise/AoE attacks from outside their ranges. This applies to both.

Yi does get masively outranged
Against a character that seems to be a master swordsman and very likely won't abuse range once Yi gets close, and with attacks that don't seem to be like massive AOEs that stretch kilometers (Based on the scans I'm seeing, correct me if I'm wrong), and seem like precise attacks?

Bro.

Like I said on another match "There was a reason Lord Recluse was my first choice"

And hes just arrogant to not dodge 100% of the time

Will he ever refuse to dodge enough to get taken down despite his ~2.5x stat advantage?

Lord Recluse usually won't just let himself lose, but he also can't instant win once he does clear the gap, and usually doesn't LSfuck people

I was talking about Statesman there. If you think that Statesman's too good, I'll look into Lord Recluse soon, and discuss that in the main tourney thread.

Oh Statesman? no he definitely takes fights seriously. He doesn't kill but He doesn't **** around enough to lose 5% of the time

as for Lord Recluse, on paper he has more PnA, but in practice most of it only just adds a bit more hurt to his melee and range

Statesman is OoT, rerun using a backup is up here.
