What reasons specifically if I might ask? All he has is an AP advantage that relies on shrek being stupid enough to stand on the tracks while not attacking.

Haven't people given reasons for Thomas that have been counted?

The reasons I see mostly rely on shrek not getting off of the tracks in time, which he definitely can. As long as he leaves the tracks there isn't really any way for Thomas to hit him.
