Same opinion as Ant. This seems fine to me, the ratings aren't that major like Extraordinary Genius and co., and the explanation seems sufficient enough to me. Although, wouldnt it be better to add the scans as well?Just one question. Is this thread appropriate to evaluate so things (understanding many of them requires knowledge of the verse). Or should I do a content revision that includes the inherently controversial Genius and Extraordinary Genius ratings?
Since most of these are general expressions, I did not need scan them for now.Although, wouldnt it be better to add the scans as well?
Hmm I see, so I assume it is not EG/SG?I do not know if we can quantify Doom Guy being able to use their technology (presumable their different types of guns), as it may have been simple to operate, combined with game mechanics.
Well, it is unquantifiable without further information at least, and the Maykr should probably be downgraded to Extraordinary Genius intelligence levels.Hmm I see, so I assume it is not EG/SG?
That seems unquantifiable in terms of general intelligence, but likely Genius in terms of physical coordination ability.Attempting to give Pepsiman a proper intelligence rating, namely an At most Gifted rating. I'll try to keep it short.
Very attentive of his surroundings, dodging out of sight vehicles and obstacles by hearing alone, even with his vision obstructed. Skilled enough to not only stay on rolling barrels, but control their movement as well. Rode a skateboard downhill while evading vehicles after getting on one for seemingly the first time. While good at delivering Pepsi to those in need and parkouring through dire situations, he has been shown to miscalculate a jump and become oblivious to his surroundings when distracted sometimes.
Genius Pepsiman sounds... uncanny. But just so we're clear, you're proposing Unknown generally, Genius physical coordination? That seems unquantifiable in terms of general intelligence, but likely Genius in terms of physical coordination ability.
No, it would be a supporting feat I thinkAlthough IQ ratings are kinda bullshit, would a character with "Ultimate" IQ be Genius by default? This comes from an info sheet of a game.
IQ ratings are BS for two reasons. 1, its name is misleading because a person can be smart but bad at IQ tests or can be unskilled in the specific types of skills IQ is judged based on. 2, fiction introduces impossible ratings that disregard how IQ is actually judged, so the difference between 300 IQ and a morbillion IQ is meaningless without more context.Although IQ ratings are kinda bullshit, would a character with "Ultimate" IQ be Genius by default? This comes from an info sheet of a game.
Since the beginning, he was capable of orchestrating the Dragons' betrayal against Ogre and was a key figure in creating the first form of the Borrowed Power System. He founded the NOX organization in order to mediate Gods, Humans and Demons, and in the human realm, one of its occupations was to collect bioenergy from every creature on Earth in order to prolong the Gods' life and keep their youthful appearance. The King would be responsible for The Great Flood, Sodom and Gomorrah, The Tower of Babel, The Black Plague, Smallpox, the two World Wars among many others for this purpose.
However, Okhwang was actually against Tathagata along with the gods and wanted change, as seen when he faked Jecheondaeseong's death and when he sent Beelzebub back to the Heavenly Realm under the pretext of being loyal to Tathagata, but the latter questioned his true motives.
Similarly, continuously feeding the Gods with bioenergy weakened them over eons, and leading Mori Jin to the Heavenly Realm by using Park Ilpyo as bait ravaged the Heavenly Realms. Offering bioenergy to the Gods was his way to keep them from exterminating humanity.
Created the Ark:NOA, a floating fortress made with various purposes in mind, such resetting humanity in order to keep it in line when it starts wriggling around, forcefully absorbing energy or destroying monsters during the First Heavenly War and it's generally considered Okhwang's home/ship, its engine being powered up with the heart of tens of thousands of monsters.
He did several experiments and developed numerous technologies, namely Commissioner R (Tam Original), Energy Stones (capable of sealing, as well as absorbing and storing bioenergy), cloning technology (Dante) and Tam (capable of power absorption, among other abilities) in hopes of gaining immortality.
In combat, he is extremely proficient in his use of manipulation of fundamental forces, and not only that, but also excels in swordsmanship and martial arts. He is capable of copying Mori Hui's skills, making incredible use of them and even making him fall for his bluffs.
We go by feats not unfounded statements, yes. Also, technically I think that the smartest human on Earth (in a specific area) is always supposed to have an IQ of 200, with everybody else scaled downwards in relation to that, regardless if humanity as a species is growing more or less intelligent, but I may remember incorrectly.IQ ratings are BS for two reasons. 1, its name is misleading because a person can be smart but bad at IQ tests or can be unskilled in the specific types of skills IQ is judged based on. 2, fiction introduces impossible ratings that disregard how IQ is actually judged, so the difference between 300 IQ and a morbillion IQ is meaningless without more context.
With that established, the word "ultimate" in this sense means "the best achievable or imaginable of its kind," the character's IQ being described that way by the game itself signifies the IQ is at least comparable to the best realistic IQ. I'm not exactly sure what the real maximum is, but the character is probably implied to have an IQ of 300. That's a rare and impressive status even though IQ scaling has its flaws, so I consider it evidence for a Gifted rank.
Do others following this thread agree with my assessment?
It seems to warrant an Extraordinary Genius rating.I am trying to give Okhwang an actual intelligence rating as I am currently reworking his profile in a sandbox- Would this qualify for Genius or Extraordinary Genius?
(You'll likely see me in this thread more often, as most GOH characters on vsbw lack intelligence ratings.)
Thank you!It seems to warrant an Extraordinary Genius rating.
Tathagata was a key figure in creating the first form of Borrowed Power, and he left himself get killed by Jecheondaeseong in order to resurrect as the Supreme God. While he went to the fullest extent to make himself fit into Gaia's Prophecy, he did not blindly trust it and prepared a way to revive himself in case the prophecy was bogus by separating his Flesh from himself, which would be, billions of years later, used to stick to every human, fan the flames of their desires to an extreme degree and make them wish to revive Tathagata.
He possesses the truth of the Universe and is capable of creating weapons like the Fairy Colony that can infinitely multiply and evolve and Light that can absorb the light from stars and use it for creating black holes and blasting immensely powerful attacks that can melt anything in its way, as well as massively amplifying his speed.
Yes, that seems like Extraordinary Genius intelligence.I’d like to ask, if a person who has already demonstrated Genius intelligence, albeit mostly in one field (Technology, Cybersecurity/hacking expertise and being able to predict enemy attack patterns with mental calculations). If they have an ability stated to boost their intelligence, and gives them the ability to process and understand information at the speeds of a supercomputer. Also using said ability to do things like being able to comb through her entire life’s memories in seconds to find the optimal methods to overcome an opponent or decipher their weaknesses. As well as being stated to have much better processing power and is smarter than a guy with a genetically enhanced brain (who is considered a genius in universe)
Would this qualify for a possibly extraordinary genius with that ability, just a flat out extraordinary or simply a “higher” rating?
The fact that he is not very bright academically does not change the fact that he is obviously "gifted" in all other factors that determine intelligence. So yes overall he should be generally gifted.I'm back again, this time the question is about Taiyo Asano. I've been wondering if his rating should stay the same or if it should be bumped up to Gifted fully instead of only "in combat"
Able to easily discern the mechanics of an ability after seeing it once in a very short timeframe and develop strategies to counter such abilities in the fly[179][180]. Learnt an entire new power system on the spot and developed it to a level beyond seasoned users of said power system[181]. After unlocking the 7th form of chakra, his level of understanding increased to the point of understanding fundamental principles of the universe like space in mere moments[182]. Has an understanding of all things in the universe[183]. Outperformed and exceeded the calculations of God who had the mind of a supercomputer with the computing speed of 8 teraflops[184][185].
Intelligence: Extraordinary Genius. Was able to split himself into different segments over the years. Modified the Akasha System, which was created by the god of wisdom[1] and is capable of granting its user any sort of knowledge they desire to know or have. Turned his assistant into a robot. Implied to be the one that removed scaramouches seal that was holding back his godly powers.
Yeah, basically. This thread is for revising intelligence sections without a CRT given that it's rather self-explanatoryQuestion: Can this thread be used to upgrade the Intelligence of characters whose feats are explicit enough to warrant an upgrade?
That seems fine to me.https://vsbattles.fandom.com/wiki/Gogeta_(Dragon_Ball_Super)?so=search
Speaking of which, Gogeta should get EG in combat as he has the combined skill and intelligence of post-TOP Goku and Vegeta
I think that "At least Genius" seems appropriate.Alright, there was a CRT on that but it doesn't have any attention, so i will just try my luck here
Anyway: My proposal is that Stanley Pines should be rated as having Gifted, possibly Genius Intelligence
The feats are very explicit in my opinion:
- Easily tricked dozens of people across the entire United States when he was an early adult. Even after becaming old, he still was manipulative enough to trick almost every single tourist that came to the Mystery Shack
- Stanley's manipulation skills are so notable that his brother thinks that not even Bill Cipher would be able to deceive him.
- Outsmarted the USA Government during the course of more than 30 years in order to build a Interdimensional Portal to bring his brother back, later outsmarting them again and getting at time to see his brother coming out of The Portal.
- Commited hundreds, if not thousands, of crimes during all of his life and got arrested by only a few of them.
- Successfully faked his own death and got multiple fake identities during his life as a scam artist and only got caught years later.
- Taught a bear how to drive.
- Despite always being treated as the dumbest student of his class, Stanley presumably learned physics in order to activate The Portal again and possibly learned 5th-Dimensional Calculus, Hyper-Advanced Engineering and Applied Quantum Phase Theory to understand how it fully worked.
The biggest part of the Gifted rating comes from his life as a con man and a criminal. The genius rating comes from him learning and understanding irrealistic science stuff during the course of 30 years, despite having literal zero knowledge about the subject before that
Usually you would have to have some heightened growth speed, like being able to match professionals with large amounts of experience with very little yourself. Experience isn't a factor unless said experience has merit, such as training or combat experience. Knowing multiple styles would be a factor in that, but what would really get you higher is creating your own.In regards to verses themed around martial arts and fighting, what do characters require to achieve gifted or genius when it comes to fighting skill? Know multiple styles? Have several years of experience?
So if you beat characters with decades of skill praised for it and knowing several of them countsUsually you would have to have some heightened growth speed, like being able to match professionals with large amounts of experience with very little yourself. Experience isn't a factor unless said experience has merit, such as training or combat experience.
