Save the World: End of Chapter 1 (hopefully)

"Yeah, and then after that...who knows." She shrugged before waving a goodbye towards Jet and slowly sidling off. "Good night, uh, I guess. See you...whenever I wake up."

I stand in the room with an irritated frown, raising an eyebrow.

"Mmm ... I have the impression that someone is missing, but who?" I wonder.

"There were almost all but who?" I wonder.

"Mmm ... but of course! DJ had said that Yuno was busy somewhere else ... I wonder what he's doing" I murmur.

"Maybe you can see with your precognition what he's doing," proposed Hero.

"Precognition?" I ask in a confused tone.

"One of Draugr's abilities, you can see into the future" answers Hero.

"Really? And why have I never used it before?"

"You never thought of doing it" he replies with obvious Hero.

"Of course ..." I reply with an annoyed tone.

"Well ... let's see if it works"

I raise my head up, while my eyes turn white.

I see a series of images, like flashes that show me moments that still have to happen.

Those images are about Yuno ... and they are not pleasant.

I wake up from my trance and then make a growl.

"That brat ... how do I find her?" I wonder.

"Can I create portals? As a DJ?" I ask again, surprised.

"Well, let's try then" I say, holding out a hand.

A red portal opens up in front of me.

"So he is in a place called Wakanda eh? Very well ... Yuno will have to answer a few questions" I say in an angry tone and then cross the portal.

(...)

"Okoye. Tell me where this country's stockpile of weapons are .... along with it's more advanced and newer weapons. .and as a punishment for lying, I'll take your life along with the life of a loved one. "

I pause before continuing and loosening the grip of my telekinesis, allowing her to have the ability to talk.

"So. What will it be?"

I grab Yuno by the shoulders and the face towards me.

"What the hell are you doing!?" I ask in a very pissed tone.

The main body does some soul-searching, finding 3 pairs of eyes looking back

one was that of a small mass of black flame. from which it seems to have inherited it's current body

the second was that of an extremely self-centered japanese teenager

figures.

the third was only a "set" in relative terms, as there were actually innumerable eyes peering back at him, studying him in a manner not dissimilar to a beast of prey studying a wounded, but still lively, animal

So that's where my powers come from? hmmmmmm.

I look at Malanie and Jet being buddy-buddy with each other and get kinda jealous.

But just butting in feels wrong, so i decide to not disturb them.

I drink the glass of champagne that Josian gave me.

Well, since it seems we can apparently contact the beings that gave us the powers i'll try to do it.

I then enter my "inner world" and ...

Inner World Events
See the scene of a Headless Warrior fighting alonside a gun weilding guy wearing a red trench coat against giant floating multi-eyed laser shooting head.
Ok, this is the most literal definition of inner turmoil

The gun guy then notices that i arrive, so he leaves the beheaded guy fighting the abomination while teleporting next to me.

Dante: "Hi there hot stuff."

Natalie:"Uhhhh ... what is happening ?"

Dante: "Me and no head guy over there were chilling, when that eyeballs jackass showed up and started attacking us, so we fought back."

The Beheholder fires a disintegration beam at Dante, who dodges thanks to his sixth sense.

The Beheaded then throws a granade at the Beholder, knocking him backwards.

Natalie:"Mind if i step in and deal with him ?"

Dante shurgs.

I then turn towards the other two.

Natalie:"You two, stop fighting immidiatly !"

The Beholder and the Beheaded, which in the meanwhile were in a physical struggle, freeze and turn their attention to me.

Natalie:"Good."

Beholder: "How dares a lesser creature speak in such a way to-"

Natalie:"Shut."

Beholder:"..."

The Beheaded starts mocking the Beholder with hand signs, which causes him to get more angry.

Natalie: "Anyway, i am Natalie, the one that is acting as your host body, tell me about yourself."

I look towards Dante.

Natalie:"Talking to you too. "

Dante: "Name's Dante, famous demon hunter and a lady killer."

He says with arrogance.

Beheaded uses hand signs to spell his name.

Beholder: "I am the Beholder, the ultimtae form of existance, the being above all else ..."

He continues bosting, untill he's stopped by me pointing at him.

Natalie: "Now i am going to leave, but i swear if you attack the others again there will be consequences.

I then wave bye to Dante and the Beheaded

and
I exit the "Inner World"

Jeez, i sure got the powers of some pretty bizzare beings.

I then notice that Jet is now alone, with Malaine having gone away, so i decide to approach her.

@Cinnabar

"Hi there."

I tell you as i get close.

I shrug of Josain's hands as I respond to his question as I once again tighten my grip on Okoye's body.

"I'm gathering much needed supplies we need to fight against None."

"The Chosen just saved their lives, so why shouldn't we take war supplies for our troubles?"

@Faruel

"...Threats and intimidation..?...What are you talking about?...What I told her was not a simple threat...It was a warning."

"If she opposes us, she and a family member will be killed. Honestly, that's more mild than anything...If it was my Onii-chan, he would kill off her entire family and friends for simply uttering the Katou family name in his presence ."

Josian stared with his lips parted and the surprised look in front of her.

He took a deep breath, trying to curb his anger.

He held out a hand, creating a portal.

"Now ... you will enter that portal, you will sit ... and you will consider a better model of life to follow, while I will go to the DJ to ask why he brought a sociopath into the team!"

"Look around you Josian."

I pause briefly.

"With this kind of city, don't you think they are bound to have things like space ships and futuristic weapons? You don't think these weapons wouold serve us well against None?"

"Look, even the spear this woman carries looks like quite the gadget."

I look angry at Yuno.

"Those weapons will be useless ... our powers can already do much more, you're just wasting time"

"Regardless...."

Without moving a single muscle, I release a small telekinetic shockwave towards Okoye, just strong enough to knock her unconcious.

Using my telekinesis I grab the spear from her unconcious body and place it in my hands.

"There are more uses for weapons than simply raw power."

I approach the now unconcious Okoye, and begin the process of reading her surface memories.

I growl and then pull the spear from Yuno's hands and cast a spell.

"Sleep" I exclaim.

[You can't do anything to stop it, yuno has no magic resistance]

I take Yuno's sleeping body and head for the portal.

Lastly, I turn to use Reverse Time on the fainted woman and treat her.

Finally I enter the portal, returning to the main hall.

I put Yuno's body on the floor and then look at Natalie and Jet.

"Could you help me ... how can I tell ... to tie her to a chair?" I ask.

[Lol, I typed up a way for Yuno to avoid getting put to sleep....but ultimately this might be better for character development...so continue.]

"Simple, I just found out that our * teammate * threatened a city to kill anyone who wouldn't give to * us * their advanced weapons," I explain, taking her in a chair and tying her with the Root spell.

"Honestly ... I do not accept that it threatens the innocents ... and in any case no weapon can ever match the ability to change the world around us"

"Hmm that doe seem like a problem. I guess I'll help." I encase Yuno's legs in chunks of Earth and ready my wand for a spell. "Summer Soap Tentacle Wave!" I yell. a bunch of cloth appears and restrains the rest of him.

"You know, I'd like to get inside his dreams to see what happens in his little head, would you like to come with me?" I ask.

Melanie hadn't had a quiet moment to herself for...forever, honestly. Well, it felt like forever. It's been a hell of a...day? Night? Week? Was time even relevant here in this base in the middle of nowhere? It was difficult to think about, and her mind was feeling fuzzy. She was tired, and hungry, but eating can come later. She can probably force down a piece of bread or two if she really put herself to the test. She really didn't want to eat rubbage for the rest of her life.

The moment she had found her room, which was a quaint little bedroom that seemed to call out to her, she would make a beeline to the bed and fall right on top of it. Her body was limp the moment it hit the soft mattress. Her whole body felt instant relief, especially her feet and legs, as she's been on them practically all day. How long had she been awake now? Like...twenty four hours? Maybe more? She came to this weird base in the middle of the night...when that strange creature attacked her...she still had no idea what that was. A vampire? She was pretty sure it was a vampire…

She was about to lie down when she remembered something...fairly important. She thought about her pet frog that she just acquired today, and suddenly, Dio frog was right next to her. She smiled at it and held her hand out. Suddenly, she had a nice little aquarium for the frog. She put it on a little nightstand next to her and put the frog inside, then making sure it was firmly locked. There we go. Nice and safe inside of a cage. She even was able to summon a box of flies that she sprinkled into the cage for Dio frog to eat.

After making sure her frog was fed, and making a mental note to feed her other frogs when she woke up, she laid down and gave in to the comfort of the mattress. The moment her head hit the pillow, she passed out completely. The color of her world was now black as her eyes felt like they were weighed down by sandbags. She was immediately into the realm of dreams, the realm of her inner mind. An inner world which contained...chaos…

Read only if desired

"Hey, she's finally here!" Melanie woke up to a nice, feminine voice. It sounded rather plesant. She was...on the floor, she didn't know how she got there. She sighed and forced herself up to her feet. Where was she...was she dreaming?

She looked up towards the source of the voice to see the familiar witch woman that she associated with her magic, a little puppet...frog, thing, and a smaller frog looking thing. She frowned and crossed her arms over her chest. These were the people that were stuck in her head? Oh dear, her mindscape was going to be incredibly awkward.

"Nice to finally meet you," the woman said as she took a step forward and offered a hand to shake, which Melanie did quickly. "Call me Princess. I think you sorta know who I am. And these are, uh...Comet and Upchuck?"

"Er, that's Kermit, actually," the puppet pointed out. There was suddenly a chair next to the puppet, which he chose to sit in. "It's nice to meet you though, Melanie. Princess here has told me a bit about you. You seem nice."

"I don't know much about you," said Upchuck with a frown, staring at Melanie in a way that made her fairly uncomfortable. "But you seem like an okay person. Don't have a good taste in food yet, though."

"You're one to talk about good taste. You eat tires and garbage," Melanie said with a shake of her head. "So, I guess that this is how I'm able to talk to all of you?"

"Seems like it," Princess said with a trickster grin before patting the girl on the shoulder. "I'm liking what you're doing with my magic, though. All of these frogs are only going to do the world more good, you know."

"I guess I get what you mean," she said with a shrug before a seat appeared next to the two woman, chairs that she willed into existence. They both sat down and Melanie let out a sigh. "What's it even like in my head, anyways?"

"Pretty empty." The witch let out a cackle. "I'm kidding, I'm kidding. It's fine, really. I can still see the outside world when you're awake. I can even influence you. We all can."

"And that's why I look some kind of freak?" Melanie raised up a green arm, and the frog was quick to bring up his hand to show he was about to speak.

"Honestly, I think Green is your color, miss. You look alright."

"Yeah, besides, I'm sure you're going to get back to normal soon. You can't stay like this forever, can you?"

"I guess not. It's just...it's all so weird. I have all of your powers and...I don't know why! I don't know why I was picked, out of everyone else in the world."

"Because you're special, if you ask me," the frog spoke. "I mean, everyone's special, wouldn't you say? This is just the way that you're special. You're able to call on our, uh...powers? I don't understand it myself, really, so I know how you feel. You're not alone here, Melanie."

"Yeah, I mean, you got three people in your head, after all, and you're probably gonna get more." Upchuck offered, though it didn't make Melanie feel any more comfortable. Instead, she just stared down at her feet, not choosing to look up at the three of them. She just wanted to go home.

"Damn, that didn't work," the witch muttered. "Kermit, some music?"

"You got it," the frog said with a smile and soon after there was...banjo music? Melanie looked up and noticed that the puppet was now strumming a banjo, playing a relaxing little tune.

"You just gotta learn to relax, Melanie. You got friends that are here for you, we're here for you. You're going to be fine." The witch grinned and elbowed her gently. "And hey, maybe you can make a new friend or two along the way. Maybe that Jet girl?"

Melanie tensed up at that and, even in a dream, she could feel her face heat up and blush spread across her face. She looked back at the ground. "It's not like I wanted...you know, for that stuff to happen."

"But you're not upset that it did happen, are you?"

Melanie didn't have a response for that, and she fumbled with her words as she tried to think of something to say. She glanced up to see the witch grinning at her, Kermit still playing his banjo and Upchuck sitting down next to Melanie's chair, almost like a dog waiting for a treat. These were her companions for now...she needed to get used to them.

"Well, if it ain't that Jet girl, than who is it that you like, huh? You gotta be having some ideas." The witch girl leaned in closer to her. "Is it the fairy girl?"

"What? No! I mean, she's cute, she's just...I don't know. Not my type."

"Natalie?"

"She looks nice, I guess. I know nothing about her."

"Yuno?"

"No!"

"Then it's gotta be Jet! Don't lie to me, you gotta be having thoughts about some of the girls here."

"I don't want to talk about it, okay?"

"I think you should leave her alone." Upchuck commented, though Melanie didn't bother to look at him. Instead she was glancing between the witch and her own feet, not wanted to look the woman in the eyes. "She's going to wake up if she gets too upset."

"Fair enough," the witch muttered as she leaned away from Melanie and sat in a more comfortable position in her seat. "Let's just...get to know each other then, huh? We got a while until you wake up, I think. Let's just talk and listen to some, uh...rustic music."

And then the rest of the time was spent speaking with the rest of the spirits inside of her. They all had different stories of their own. The witch told her about different tricks she pulled on mortals and some of the magic spells that she had learned (which actually increased the variety of magic Melanie knew), and she told her about her quarrels with the Harvest Goddess as well.

Upchuck told her about some very complex things that she just didn't know. He talked about space faring civilizations and a race of people called the Gourmands. Melanie didn't understand half of it, but she kept listening either way. They had a long talk about this alien's weird physiology and why he just couldn't eat normal food for once. Melanie unfortunately learned that she could spit out whatever she ate as an energy blast. That...made her feel even more disgusted with her new body, but she decided to not dwell on the topic for too long.

And Kermit was the nicest. He had long and complex stories about these groups of puppets that he would call a family. Their strange adventures filled with action and generally just warming up Melanie's heart. Kermit was a good storyteller, and he knew how to keep Melanie listening to his odd tales, even during the admittedly boring parts. He was probably the most enjoyable expereince for Melanie while she was asleep.

This was how she would spend her night. Melanie knew that the hours would pass, and that she would slowly recharge herself, and that eventually, she'll wake up, but...she didn't mind. She didn't even think about it at the moment. For now, she merely wanted to enjoy the moment, surrounded by people that, though unwillingly, she was slowly starting to make friends with. She could get used to a comfortable position like this.

And so, they talked the night away.

"Great, put your hand on my shoulder and we'll leave right away ... maybe we'll also meet our skill donors, Did you meet your donors?" I ask.

"Yes, i have met them, and they are quite bizzare."

I respond to Josian as i put my hand on his shoulder.

Also, the Beheaded costant planning on literally everything is becoming boring, it makes me unable to enjoy supprises, so i decide to limit it to only combact shenarios or things like that.

"Bizarre? Wait to meet my donors" i chuckle, placing a hand on Yuno's forehead.

My eyes turn white as Natalie and I get catapulted into her mind.

It happens in a heartbeat and suddenly we find ourselves in a completely white place.

I look around.

"Did I expect anything more ... imperialistic? Like a city forged on an anvil of dictatorship and not so veiled oppression"

I look over to see the man who I had just been talking with not too long ago...

[Yep. He put you to sleep.]

I know. I heard him say "sleep" beforehand.

"You...What's your problem!? Why not let me do as I please, if it would benefit all of us in the end? I don't understand."

"You don't understand, that's the point, Yuno!" I exclaim, approaching her.

"You threatened the innocents! You threatened to kill families! How would you feel if someone arrived one day and threatened your family!?"

"Because we are not savages, if you want something you have to ask first and, in case, accept if your request isn't fulfilled."

I tell Yuno.
