Save the World: End of Chapter 1 (hopefully)

I look at the frog girl eating a building

"... You know, I don't actually have anything to say to that one. Either way, should we be heading back to base?"

I telekinetically suck up some demons in the meantime
 
"About Thanos ..." I exclaim, then lay a hand on Melanie's head.

"Thanks ... without your help I wouldn't have been able to kill him"

"And besides ... sorry for today's outburst ... but there is a reason if I am paranoid or lunatic ... you become ... when you lose your wife and your daughter" I exclaim in a dejected tone, looking down.
 
"Oh, uh...I...didn't know that," Melanie muttered as she rubbed the back of her head. She shook it slowly. "Look just, I've been high strung recently. Everything's just been going crazy and...I've been looking worse by the second."

She held up a green hand and shook her head. "I don't like any of this but...I mean, I can't exaclty say no. ...we should probably head back to the base. I really need some food and I don't want to eat buildings..."
 
Where'd you go cinnabar?))

"Look I just...something weirds going in with me. Normal food seems...disgusting now. I don't like it..." she scrunched her face up and shook her head.

Landing near the others to head back, my new watch speaks up as a green light scans Melanie.

"Gourmand human hybrid DNA detected."

"........ oh so that was the tongue thing."
 
"Aww ... do you want a hug? A word of comfort? Or ... this delicious brick!?" I ask, bringing a brick close to his face.
 
Melanie's immediate reaction was to actually grab the brick and chuck it away from her. She stared at where it landed for a moment before her hunger took over again, signified bu the loud grumble in her stomach. Her tongue shot out, this time splitting into four separate tongues and grabbing several bits of debris before shoving them in her mouth. She put her face in her hands and screamed. "God i'm a freak!"

Seriously this was just not cool...
 
"At least your third skill donor is cute, but I have him," I say in a bored tone as Imix's big flaming form appears behind me, screaming at the sky.

"He screams ... a lot" I say with annoyance.
 
"Cute? If we have the same image in my head there's nothing about him that's cute," she muttered as she still felt an emptiness in her stomach. She was gonna have to eat a whole skyscraper if she wanted to fill herself up... "it doesn't help that it's turning me green, you know. My body changes with every new sphere we get."
 
"Then I'll put an end to your aberrant existence! Scribble!" Shouted Imix, pointing his sword at Melanie, but he was immediately sucked into Josian.

"Why don't you ask DJ to do something? Maybe he can change your appearance"
 
"I don't know, I honestly think that's almost worse. I don't want someone to just...play around with what I look like, you know? I mean...that'd just be weird, right...?" Melanie shrugged. "Either way, I...think I can handle it right now. Just hope I don't get something so green next time..."
 
"It's not easy being green," Boris responded as he was now green and spoke in a certain frog's voice. "But it sure is fun!"
 
"Patron...god? The heck are you talking about?" Melanie glanced over at Boris as soon as he said that damn catchphrase and frowned. She crossed her arms. "Uh, that sounds like my line, actually." That specific puppet frog inside of her was basically screaming now. This is copyright infringement.
 
"Alright everyone, i'm gonna teleport you guys back to the base. Seems Yuno is busy somewhere else, so i'll wait for her here." He then teleported everyone back to the base. While no one was seeing, he teleported the infinity gems somewhere else too.

The Avengers are just unsure what to do, but that doesn't concern DJ. He teleports into Wakanda, just watching what Yuno was planning.
 
"Green goes with anything if you ask, see!" Boris just commented in a mafia-type voice, now back to his original color as he rode around on a bison.
 
"Oh yes, a Patron God is the term closest to the entities that choose our powers, they choose a warrior from another world and makes sure to give their powers to us"

"My powers come from a legendary hero from a kingdom known as Lore, from an undead from Nordic mythologies and from an elemental fire lord"
 
"Hmm... Well, you know, Vampires can change their appearance at will, so if you need anything, just tell me."

I get back to base.
 
"I'm...sorry to say, but that sounds like a load of baloney," she said with a shake of her head before glancing at the fallen gemstone. She moseyed on over to the gem and picked it up, examiningnit and staring at her reflection. "But if you really do know, tell me."

She then glanced to Colis and frowned, bringing a hand to her neck and rubbing it against her neck. "I...I think I'm good. I had an experience with vampires before this anyways..."
 
"So, as far as Hero tells me, your powers come from a little witch, from a puppet for a children's show ... and from an alien from a cartoon and are strangely connected to a fixation for frogs by the your Patron God "

I look confused.

"What the hell is a cartoon"
 
Melanie picks up the Gemstone and examines it, It looks like an almost tear-drop shaped Black Gemstone, though with a point towards the center and some lines down it.

Jet Gemstone
 
"Uh...right, sounds just as weird as I expected." She shook her head as she kept staring into the stone. It was honestly kinda pretty. She sorta wanted to keep it. Maybe make a little necklace out of it. She shrugged and held it close to her. "I do have a thing for frogs, though...I used to chase them around back home. And...you don't know what a cartoon is?"
 
"Some sort of gem," she said with a shrug as she held it closer to her chest. She didn't want the girl to accidentally break it or something. That'd be very upsetting.
 
Boris proceeded to pick up the bison he was riding and shove it into a meat grinder, the bison having a bored expression all the while.
 
Josian shook his head.

"Hero tells me that according to the words of my Patron God is a thing of the * modern world * ... I come from a world similar to Lore's" shrugged.

"But if you don't believe me I can let you meet ... my donors and yours I mean"
 
"I...think I'm alright. I already feel them present anyways." She shook her head and sighed. "It's just gonna take me a bit to adjust to all this. It's only been...how long has it been since this happened? A couple days?"
 
"Doesn't feel like that amount of time had passed," she muttered with a shake of her head, keeping the gem close to her chest. "Doesn't feel that long at all."

Upon hearing the word about Jet regenerating, she tilted her head, clearly having no idea what he was talking about.

Melanie blinked and stared awkwardly at the gem in her hand. She frowned and stared at the glowing light, seemingly mesmerized by it. What was this..?
