The official description for Longevity on the Wiki goes as follow:
I've already written a description of the power on my Bardock draft, so that's all set. Just do a little copying and pasting, and we're all good.
The Toei Saiyans have it even better, since Pan — a quarter-Saiyan — only appeared in her sixties during the GT finale and its subsequent special, A Hero's Journey, despite being over a hundred years old.
With that in mind:Longevity is the ability to age far more slowly than any normal being, allowing the user to have a lifespan that far exceeds any human, sometimes reaching hundreds or thousands of years if not longer.
- Jaco stated that Saiyans experience very long childhoods compared to humans (as seen with Goku, who remained in a thirteen-year-old body until reaching seventeen) and then spontaneously develop into adults. After reaching their physical primes, they hardly age for long periods of time.
- Toriyama, in an interview from the Super Exciting Guide, stated that Saiyans age very slowly after reaching their physical prime in order to maintain optimal combat strength; however, after reaching a certain age, they then proceed to rapidly grow old and frail.
- The Daizenshuu 4 states that Saiyans have evolved to "have a long youth", allowing them to remain in their prime for many years to come.
- Toriyama, in a Q&A to celebrate Episode of Bardock, stated that Saiyans have a longer natural lifespan than humans; however, their average lifespan is not all that impressive by comparison, because they keep getting themselves killed.
