RWBY vol 8 discussion thread

I don't see how that means anything, considering the size is unknown.

Also why even assume she shook the entire space and not just the "ground" they were standing on?

I mean, when she started screaming, the scene was focused on the portals and the space around them shaking, not the ground since the shot wasn’t on it.

I don't see how that means she shook the space itself, it's not even possible to visually show space without any matter shaking.

That’s true. I’m not saying that she should get anything, just interesting to note. Here’s the scene in any case near the end.

Did the scaling for Monstra.

Scaling from Atlas's height,

Monstra's length (without tail fins): (574 x 850.75)/80 = 6104.13 m
Montra's tail fins length: (191 x 850.75)/80 = 2031.17 m
Monstra's height: (92 x 850.75)/80 = 978.36 m

The length where the tail starts dandling down is 330 px, making the shored length: (330 x 850.75)/80 = 3509.34 m

From second image,

Monstra's width (without fins): (413 x 978.36)/471 = 857.88 m

Thing's more massive than I thought.

If we apply surface explosion on the shored length:
(3509.34/2)^3*((27136*1.37895+8649)^(1/2)/13568-93/13568)^2 = 434182.05 Tons of TNT [434.18 Kilotons, High 7-C, Large Town level]

Don't think the volume of Monstra is needed. But if so, we'll need to figure out an approximate for the overall volume (maybe consider Monstra an elliptic cone), and apply hollowness percentage. A more complicated, and possibly less accurate, alternative would be to upscale a sperm whale to around Monstra's size.

So far the pictures for Mantle are tricky. Let us know if a clearer comparison shot is found.

EDIT: I think we can use this picture

If we say "The explosion would engulf 100% of mantle if the bomb drops in the middle", then it would be Island level. So we should stick to a portion of Mantle getting destroyed.

Thanks for doing this. Does that mean that the kinetic energy from The Long Memory is at least High 7-C, in order to destroy Monstra?

I don't know if anybody here has heard, but there's a rumor going around that AT&T is looking to sell off Rooster Teeth:

How would this potentially affect RWBY?
Not particularly, they don't have much relations with AT&T like one might think. But it has the potential to I suppose.

Oh this is interesting! We can make an argument that everyone with an aura can scale it to Vine’s aura, giving at least professional Huntsmen and villains at least High 7-C durability, likely higher.

Hazel died from taking ozpin's blast head-on but othe rpeople survived it, so you could probably inverse square law something
