Rule Violation Reports (New forum)

Just woke up.

I more or less agree with Deagon's assessment. I think Tdjwo provoked them and generally behaved worse. There is something to be said for Zeona fighting toxicity with toxicity, but I don't think it reached a point where a warning was necessary (had it continued, it very well may have).

I'll avoid repeating what happened in the other thread. After all, this site is meant to be a discussion forum. The goal is to try and get a word in,even if that means not always agreeing with each other's opinions, in whatever argument, without resorting to insults or toxicity.👍

I remember Big Smoke, and while I will agree with the idea that it is plausible he acted without malice (and rather, per his argument, ignorance), I think banning that behavior was the right move at the time. Given that it has been years, I am open to the idea of allowing his return without restrictions, however, as two years can have a notable shift on a person (dare I mention my own ban once more?).

Let us obviously see what others think, but I am content to remove his restrictions, if only to see how he does.
 
The name is familiar, but do not remember full details. But I think being young or naive rather than outright malicious sounds like something that described him back then. I am alright with another chance, but to keep a watchful eye on them.

You can't tag staff. As for the report, the person seems to be a bit mean but nothing really that bad, I don't think it's even warning worthy.

I disagree. His behavior is targeted, unwarranted and demeaning.

I cannot imagine these types of comments are just overlooked if he were to respond this way to a staff member.

i still want to get in touch with somebody who can help me report this comment if I’m not allowed to tag staff.

Yes, I agree, I'd be fine with a message being sent to the user asking them to be a bit kinder.

I don’t want my report to get buried under other’s.
I’ve also made a proper response to the reported user as I assume I was allowed to?

The hilarious thing is that not only do we, the staff, tank these comments because we see them minute irritants at best, we are likely the target of several times as many. Who better to shake your fist at than the law of the land, even if said law is just a collection of otherwise normal users akin to yourself, yes?

Vzearr is right that this is not worthy of formal retort. Even a warning is not warranted, especially as (most) of the comment is indeed intended to be constructive criticism. If you were not seeking criticism, one would not post questions about such things.

Some elements of the post should be nicer, as if these paltry offenses stack up indefinitely they certainly can and do result in action being taken. But one off unkind comments aren't considered serious enough to warrant action, least we ban every user on the forum for not walking on eggshells all day long.

i understand I must endure harsh comments here and there. It’s effortless to report each one. I’ve experienced previous insults in my posts and I’ve ignored them.

However, there is a line between criticism and underhanded harassment. Of which, the reported user crossed several times: he insulted my profession, belittled me and discouraged me without proper guide in the right direction ( referring to the last paragraph).

What he did was allow his biases and personal agenda to come through when he started criticizing ( i am normally accepting of criticism ), and that shouldn’t be tolerated.

I understand and can tolerate hate comments. But I can’t tolerate when someone is using criticism as a disguise to hide their clear biases and unwarranted retorts.
And I am very disappointed at the moderators here for being unable to see the blatant harassment here.
I’ve seen your comment and I will stop my troubles here.
I will continue on and keep in my mind this community’s rules.
 
A single message cannot be construed as hate or harassment. It is a single message. If it were a continued string of behavior, I would be more receptive to this, but it just wasn't. It was pretty tame as far as slights go, and although you may well take such a slight more deeply, that does not render them more than a slight.
 
Someone get TotalMasterInfinity before I actually get mad.

He acted hostile for no reason for a DxD thread and refused to “listen to what we have to say” in the OP just cause we disagree. I won’t lie, but even I said something afterwords cause that actually got me heated that someone to start nothing but trouble for no reason. I will edit later cause I’m on the phone currently

Nothing that is rule-breaking yet but someone should definitely discipline this user on how to run a Content Revision Thread before things get out of hand.

Immediately started the thread by wanting to ignore and silence any opposition:

Reporting @TyphonEX for spam and harassment of staff. To summarize, he has been spamming staff of the re-opening of his rejected thread of GoW, even questioning why it was closed despite it's rejection. I think the volume speaks for itself,

I mean, it's annoying but not necessarily a rule violation, I feel like this at most warrants a message being sent to the user to calm down, even that seems quite hasty.

I'll also add that he is a self admitted sock of a permabanned user who was originally given a 1 year long ban back in January 2021 for doing the exact same thing he is doing right now between 2019-2020. And later had that ban extended to permanent when he made obvious socks and continued to harass people in message walls. And has since made more socks over the years.

Reporting @Dishano for spam-making CRTs about subjects, that have recently been debunked. These CRTs have no new arguments or scans, and to make things worse the arguments are just repeated over and over. When the CRT is getting rejected he refuses to believe he is incorrect and just makes a new one instead, the same things happen when people disagree, he just repeats the arguments again and again.

He also shows that his understanding of the system is lacking at best.

The point is that the entire thing is meaningless and simply a waste of time. It is also clear that the user don't understand how the things he is proposing even works on the wiki.

So I hope we can either make a small warning informal or formal, or in the worst case scenario a topic ban.

I think an informal warning is fair, he's new and doesn't understand our system, but he shouldn't be punished for that unless he ignores the informal warning.
