Rule Violation Reports (New forum)

Funny coming from the same kid who doesn't even know what antagonistic even means.
showing or feeling active opposition or hostility toward someone or something. This post is antagonistic. Your other posts are also antagonistic towards others or towards me. I don't know what you want man.
Could you all just shut the hell up? RVR is not the place for bickering.
I'm trying man, but this guy literally refuses to let up.

Nothing i said to you portrays any sort of resentment nor any sort of dislike. You're a random user, I have nothing to have against you so in the real world we'd call this an "inappropriate term.". Again learn what the term means and find a proper way to fit it into a sentence, the word your looking for here is condescending.

Learn how to use words properly before you call other stupid there kiddo. Anywhere I'm about done here with you, don't expect anymore replies from me to you.

Also, if you have questions, we have a questions and answers board where you can put stuff like that.

Reporting thedoctor for these reasons in This thread:
1. Using outside sources not on the character profiles instead of the actual profile itself
2. Derailing the thread by saying that everyone on the wiki is wrong and believing himself to be right
3. Just being plain annoying in general

@Staff

So what should we do with Gin? He seems adamant to not relent and continue to be rude and unreasonable, including towards DontTalk no less, one of our absolutely most intelligent and reliable staff members, but he is a longtime member and this is not normal behaviour from him.

Personally I think that a temporary ban time is required.

A warning isn't good enough and a permanant ban is too excessive.

I think that a month is appropriate but I'll see what other staff members have to say.

A month at most in that case. This is not a very serious issue, and he is a longtime member who has otherwise been productive as far as I am aware.

To be honest, as much as I understand why Gin was worked up because he thought he was right on something but many people disagreed with him and a staff member refused to participate in a thread where he wanted them to (which is completely okay btw), he has a history of rudeness and outbursts, and as evident from the thread, he has problems calming down.

I suppose a temporary ban is in order.

Yes, DontTalk is specialised in threads regarding overall wiki policies. He does not have the time available to help with local content revisions for specific verses, unless they are very important or clearly relate to wiki policy issues.

Anyway, we should probably wait for more staff input regarding a possible at most 1-month ban.

Also, should we let Gin finish the discussion that he is caught up in before applying it, as it seems important to him?

One month is fine with me.

Just a note that I get that people can be frustrated and angry when things don't go their way and when staff members refuse to help out on a certain thread. When I joined the wiki, one of my first threads was a super controversial DBZ thread in which I tried to argue that Goku should have some resistance to reality warping since he lolnope'd a wish made to Porunga. There were agreements and disagreements in that long thread and I was frustrated because I thought I was right. I went to @Ryukama's message wall and asked him to give input, where he disagreed with me and didn't comment on my thread. Naturally, I got angry too and it resulted in a back and forth debate with him on the topic on his message wall.

Point is, it happens to everyone. But you just have to keep your behavior in check. Don't be too rude and don't be an ass. Take a step back, do something else, relax. But repeated outbursts and inability to calm down is not something that can be ignored.

Should we ask Gin one final time if he is willing to make a continuous effort to clean up his behaviour, or if we will be forced to give him a temporary block?

Sorry, but if a punishment had been decided on then I don't see the point in delaying it just so he can have a conversation. If Gin wants he can resume the conversation after his punishment or continue the conversation off-site.

Personally I think we should apply the block now and check back on him in a month.

Okay. What do the rest of you think?

I've literally dropped the attitude on DT's wall. If anyone should decide on if I should be banned or not it should be the user who I got into said altercation with, I.E DT, and most certainly not Damage who's known for suggesting bans for minor offenses.

A month seems very excessive for being mildly aggressive. Shit I didn't even hit anyone up with direct insults like "hey **** you asshole." when I very easily could have. But alas at the end of the day I don't care if I get banned in the end or not.

With the amount of people that have report-immunity here due to their contributions to the wiki, I don't see why he's getting banned let alone for an entire month. Two weeks with the possibility of parole at the most.

Does report-immunity exist?

There's no such thing as "report immunity."

I think that a month's ban is the best solution here and if LordGin's attitude changes after the ban then that will be good.
