Rick is more likely to kill in this scenario, and most of Jumba's 6-B experiments are individual, sentient, beings. Rick has had no problems dealing with mobs in the past, and most of what Jumba can dish out can easily be countered by Rick portal scumming or time stop. Plus, any experinemt that tries to touch him will instantly die.
To add to that, Rick is more of an on the fly thinker than Jumba, so I believe Rick takes this.

A good portion of the experiments don't need to touch him to affect him. Just to name a few, Amnesio just has to look him in the eyes to erase his memories, Babyfier only needs to sprinkle a powder--that has a massive AoE-- to turn him into a baby, Angel just has to sing to pacify him, and Richter has to thump his tail on the ground to create a 5.0 earthquake.

It is very in character for Rick to just portal spam right off the bat. He'll jump into a portal and come back when he's more well equipped. Also, my point about Rick being a more on the fly thinker still stands, Jumba to my knowledge hasn't been in situations where he was cornered and got out easily. Rick has been in that situation many times before, I'm sure his experience would tell him that it's time for portal spam.
