Optinal Equitment is something a character has used but doesn’t usually have it on their person and usually only has it for a limited amount of time.
Equipment someone has on them 90+% of the time is not considered optional.

Its like a character gains a sword for one mission and one mission only, they don’t usually have the sword so its not considered standard equipment for them but they can be allowed to have it if stated so.

Well if this is the case then why are we not allowed to restrict standard equipment if it results in stomps like this? Like in Speed Equalized matches speed amps that make a character blitz another character are restricted via the rules, why can't standard equipment be restricted?

You can it just will be deemed an illegitimate match that cant be added.
It essentially boils down to “If a character has an ability that leads to a stomp then its a stomp and the match shouldnt be made”.

If you have to restrict a characters basic abilities in order to not get stomped then you can’t actually fight or beat them.
This has been discussed various times, only Speed can be equalised and what can and cant be restricted has been decided.

Again, I still disagree so I don't understand why you brought this up, I also said I'd just leave it at that so I still don't understand why lol. It should just be handled on a case-by-case basis as to whether or not restricting abilities will still result in a stomp, imo.
