So I've always wondered why the anime is used over the manga
As we know they're both canon but Toriyama himself in an interview states that Toyotaro's work is actually closer to what he himself wants instead of the anime
"Whenever I supervise anime and whatnot, there's always something that bugs me and that I'll ask to have fixed. But when I look at your storyboards, I can just take it easy. I can give it the OK in no time flat; it really makes things convenient (laughs)."

Also if i recall correctly i was told by a member, may or may not have been a mod/admin, gonna need to go back and check
That whatever Canon is the latest and has things happen differently; retcons whatever canon came before it
Since the manga is coming out after the anime is (it started before but it's behind in the arcs, still currently on black goku arc)
Doesn't that mean the Manga should retcon the anime in some instances? And should the manga not be seen as the main canon?
Not trying to turn this into an argument, i was just wondering, rational explanations would be welcomed
