Question about Star Trek ?

Whenever the galaxy is facing an extinction level threat why don't people just call in the Q Continuum ?

It's a question I had after the watching the latest episode of Star Trek Picard. With the synthetic alliance being such a big threat and coming to kill everyone and all that. Why doesn't anyone call in the Q Continuum to fight off the Synth alliance. The Synth alliance can't be 1B right ?

It's probably for the same reason why he didn't send Voyager home in Q2 or save Earth in All Good Things... Helping them is just below him, and he prefers assisting rather than doing it for them. Out of speculation, I'd also say the threat isn't quite high enough by this point, as they do exist but haven't been summoned.
