Potential Krillin upgrade

Krillin briefly fought Android 18, even landing blows, in the most recent episode of Super. We also hear him ask her to hold back a little, implying she isn't holding back. 18 also believes this tournament is for 10 million zeni, so she'd want to have them as strong as they can be to get the supposed prize money. That would mean holding back in training with Krillin would hinder his growth, and they only have two days.

Its also supported by him effortlessly beating Base Gohan. Yes, he won due to his tactics, but they'd have basicaly been useless if he couldn't deal even minor damage.

So there's two things supporting him getting upgraded. No, not beyond 18. I personally wouldn't have him above her or Base Krillin. But at a sufficient level of power to not get absolutely bodied, which would have logically happened if Large Star 18 fought Planet level Krillin.
 
Powerscaling is completely broken in dragon ball super except for top tiers since characters can hold back their strength by immense degree. I do not see why any upgrade is necessary. Nobody gets bodied in Super, all characters can hold their power back as much as necessary
 
Ii agree it is obvious #18 was just training. Let's not rush every upgrade once an episode comes out...
 
I don't really believe 18 would be holding back immensely, powerscaling may be off but that can't be use as an excuse every time.

Krillin fighting Goku is an outlier even if you ignore the SSB part of the fight as Goku in base is more powerful then SS3 Gotenks so Krillin pushing him to SS is bs, Krillin's fight with Gohan was due to tactics, this was explained multiple times that normal power is not going to be enough and in a previous episode (don't remember the name) Gohan fought evenly with base and SS Goku in a practice fight but still manage to get hits in so Krillin fighting Gohan should not be used.

This is the only fight that would give us a good range on his power, if he manage to actually fight 18 for a bit and wasn't getting thrashed and 18 is not the one to hold back her strength though I'm not saying she didn't hold back I'm just saying she most likely wasn't holding back all her power.

The best I see him getting is a possibly or likely Low 4-C for fighting her but that's about it.
 
I don't think this casual fight can be used to upgrade Krillin since Goku [before fighting with Krillin] was sure that Krillin could take on Basill, but later [after facing Goku that went from Super Saiyan to Super Saiyan Blue] was defeated by Android 18, who should be far weaker than Basill.
 
Lordgrffin- When was the last time you saw anybody in the main cast getting thrashed? Goku can fight Master Roshi in SSB kkx10 and it won't mean anything. 18 held back as much as she needed. It's all about ki control, scaling does not work here
 
@Joseph619 I'm sorry but just because the main cast doesn't get thrashed a lot means nothing, yes she held back but its unknown what degree that why I said at possible or likely low 4-C not High 4-C like her current tier.

Krillin has been training hard as stated by 18 herself, krillin asks her to hold back after she hit him down and she tells him he's still to soft but obviously this is just training so neither where going full out.

I can admit that even low 4-C is high for him but I still think Krillin disserves a "possible higher" next to his tier as he has gotten stronger but its unknown by how much.

Basil was somewhere close to Gohan, but Gohan was extremely weak. He'd have likely relieved a zenkai after fighting Lavender (yes, zenkais are shown to still be a thing) but still failed to beat Piccolo, who was toying with his Super Saiyan form. Its impossible to know where Gohan is currently.

Also, Basil was still superior in the image training, which is shown to be the same as real training. Basil was unaffected by a FP blast from Krillin in said hypothetical match.

Also, even if she used a mere ten percent of her power, do you not think that would be enough to boost Krillin to Large Planet level?
 
We still need more informations about Krillin. A match where he ended defeated by Android 18, which was not fighting seriously does seems to not qualify an upgrade.
 
Yeah, Krillin shouldn't be upgraded here. "At least Planet level, likely higher" at best.
 
Well we are most likely not gonna get anymore info on krillin until the tournament but I can argree with a "likely higher" next to his current tier
 
Kuririn has barely any training behind him since the Android Saga.

He has been established as being much weaker than Base Gohan, who is <<< Base Goku.

He would have been one-shot by Gohan if Gohan wasn't holding back. Same with 18 (Who herself is much weaker than Base Gohan until we get feats).

Again, wait guys.

Krillin has been training and honing his skills since the match with Roshi. Krillin trained with Kami and goes from a power level of 206 to 1,770 in 6 month's. This puts him at Large Island level to Small Planet level. The smallest gap there is immensly greater than the mere battle power gap of 8.5 times. That was, again, a mere 6 months, but his power would have shot up several thousands of times at the bare minimum. So we know that training has given massive boosts before.

He was established as being weaker than Base Gohan. By how much is not specified, but again, he would t have done anything at all at Planet level. And Gohan was simply caught off gaurd as Krillin took advantage of the situation and attacked as soon as he was distracted.

If he'd get one shot by Gohan, then there would be no point on having him there. Gohan himself doesn't state that he is holding back at all. It only comes from Krillin while attacking an off gaurd Gohan.

Gohan has nothing to suggest he is even at his Buu saga level. It's implied he's even weaker than that. 18 was fighting SSJ Goten & Trunks very briefly in the Buu saga before they ran off, and the guide states Goten was as strong as Gohan was before the training for the tournament.

Base Gohan is inferior to Goku. He's likely weaker than his Buu saga self, while Base Goku or Vegeta could've bodied SSJ3 Gotenks far earlier in the series.
 
Can we like wait a bit for an upgrade and like not every episode. This is very tiresome. Wait okay?

But then why is it bad for Krillin to get an upgrade when the both of them just started training again? Gohan shouldn't be scaled there as its been contradicted.

Lavenda was a lot weaker. He's only so formidable due to his poison, which was decaying Gohans body.
 
can I close this?

Im gonna do the scaling after the tournament. Depending on how Krillin and Tien do I think I can get them between 4-C and High 4-C.
