So I've been looking through the Xenoblade wiki and stumbled upon some info about the ether crystals that could lead to new resistances for the Xenoblade Chronicles 1 cast.
Minor Resistance to Mind Manipulation via Confuse Resist Gem: Here's a link to a page explaining the Confuse status effect https://xenoblade.fandom.com/wiki/Confuse To sum things up, Confuse "causes the target to cease attacking and to run around randomly until it wears off." which could possibly be interpreted as mind manipulation and the Confuse Resist gem is able to nullify the effect of the status effect.
Resistance to Durability Negation/Resistance Negation via Pierce Resist Gem: Here's another link explaining the Pierce status effect https://xenoblade.fandom.com/wiki/Pierce It's stated that "Targets afflicted with Pierce have their Defence and Ether Defence ignored when taking damage. The defence stats are effectively zero for the duration of the debuff, increasing received damage." Parts of this could either be interpreted as durability negation, or resistance negation seeing that the physical defense and ether defense are ignored for the time that it is inflicted and the Pierce Resist gem nullifies the effect of status effect. In addition, Zanza should probably also get Durability Negation/Resistance Negation because of the fact that he has a move capable of inflicting the status effect called "black hole".
Resistance to Death Manipulation via Divine Protect Gem: Here's a link to another page explaining the Instant Death status effect https://xenoblade.fandom.com/wiki/Instant_Death The site states that "Instant Death is a status in Xenoblade Chronicles. It inflicts damage equal to the target's maximum HP, thereby killing or incapacitating the target." This one's pretty self-explanatory as it instantly kills the target and the Divine Protect gem is able to nullify the status effect.
Resistance to Attack Reflection via Spike Resist Gem: Another link explaining the Spike status effect here https://xenoblade.fandom.com/wiki/Spike_(status) The cast already has attack reflection via Spike so the Spike Resist gems being able to nullify the status effect should be noted as resistance to attack reflection
Finally, here's a link to all of the gems in XBC1 https://xenoblade.fandom.com/wiki/Gem
